Sorry, everyone! The Roll Call card will get you into the VIP entrance to the Fest. The special bundles will get you into the PIT for MMJs show.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

I could be wrong but I've read over all this info a thousand times, and I'm pretty sure it shakes down like this:

$40 gets you soundcheck access, a poster, and access to the pit during the primetime MMJ set.

A Roll Call membership, without any additional bundle purchases, gets you access to the VIP festival grounds entrance.

If you want to be in the pit, you gotta buy the bundle.

Yeah, 95% sure you are correct. So do we think the pit gonna be exclusively made up of roll call members and maybe some guests of the band? That'd be pretty swell.

This special upgrade for soundcheck got you access to the soundcheck plus the poster, but - and this I really hope isn't the case because I can't afford the additional upgrade - is not needed for pit access for the main MMJ performance.

There was talk that the ONLY pit access to the MMJ show is via this upgrade bundle for soundcheck/poster. But I don't know how she knows that. In a heap of caution, I bought for this reason.

Now that I think about it, I think your roll call card will get you in too

If that's true then I just wasted $40 buying 2 bundles; I could have used my own Roll Call card and my hubs could have used the one I purchased.

Why are these details so free of details?????

From what I understand:

Roll Call Soundcheck Bundle : Pit/Soundcheck/VIP entrance
Roll Call Card: VIP Entrance
Forecastle VIP: VIP Entrance/VIP viewing area(not the pit)

I am likely wrong but that is how I've interpreted the "details."

since we're sitting here speculating, here's another thing I'm wondering about.

We know there is no VIP pit for any other show.   This is confirmed multiple places.

How do you put in a Pit at the end of saturday for MMJ?   They can't just "add" in some barriers at 7 pm, right?  what about the people that were there for the earlier bands?   If it's there all day, is it going to be empty all day?

I think you need the VIP Bundle for the MMJ pit. At least that's the way I interpreted it.

The way I read it is you need your Roll Call card or Pit access wristband in order to use the VIP easy entrance to Fest, nothing about the RC card getting you in a pit for MMJ.

Photog pit?  That's what I'm thinking.

Yeah, that's a good question. I am intrigued by how this is all gonna go down.

Yeah, maybe it's the photo pit. But damn that seems like it would be cramped - I guess if it's only roll call members and a handful of others it could work though.

No way Eric:

Okay, I'm done speculating.  I have GOT to get some work done today.   :bath:

EDIT: Eric, I think actually you and I are on the same page; I was just saying that IF it were true I didn't need a second bundle.

***HEY EVERYONE READ THIS***

i just heard (from a friend on the advisory committee) that JK (the horses mouth) told him last night that mmj was very adamant that the pit is only for roll call members.  there are special VIP viewing areas to the right and the left of the stage for the $350 people, but the pit is only for rollcall members who purchased the sound-check/pit package.

hope this clarifies.
out go the lights it begins

oistheone

I'm thinking there might be a sanctioned-off pit area in front of the main stage for all bands, like at Bonnaroo. You wait in line before the set starts, and they let people in. However, for the MMJ set, I'll bet you will only be allowed into the pit if you have the Roll Call wristband.

Seems like a logical way to do it, but who knows? It'll be interesting. I have faith in Roll Call.

Hello Forecastleians! If any of you kind roll call members purchased extra pit bundles that you can not use and would like to sale, please let me know. I would hate to end my pit viewing streak now!

jones

I purchased two VIPs and the sound check/pit upgrade.  It seems to me that if the sound check or pit were included with the VIPs that we would have been made aware of it.

They are still available for your purchase directly.   :bath:

Penny Lane

I think they can set this up pretty much how they want.

If Forecastle gets enough backlash because people paid for the VIP area and can't get near the PIT, they may work with Roll Call to take over half of the PIT or something. And because there aren't VIP PIT areas for other shows (or haven't been in the past), maybe they'll create one. Since the fest has continued to grow, and Roll Call is new, who knows what will happen. VIP never promised PIT viewing, that's the problem. Maybe VIP implies that? It sorta tricked people into buying VIP-had they known about other little perks, I doubt most would have bought (except for TEO, who enjoys the free cocaine, eunuch servants, and hookers that he can handle).
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

I'm thinking they'll let Baby MMJ in without a bundle though!  They better, she needs another MMJ show wristband to add to her collection!  ;)

So they have not sold out of the 40$ packages? I have been meaning to join roll call anyways, so you think if I joined now I would be able to still get the pit passes?
