Did any of the band members go to college?

I've been wondering this for like a year now, but as many interviews as I've seen, or articles as I've read, I've never seen one thing about them going to school (other than, maybe at one time, something about Jim James going to UK for a while, or something...).

I'm just curious...I always think it's interesting when people this talented are able to surpass college and make a successful career for themselves...but even if they did go to college, I was just wondering. :)

well in the Live at the Rud! 2007 show Jim says something about his roommate at UK i believe. I could be wrong...

edit: i just read your entire post. sorry.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Jim did one semester at UK.  He's said in interviews that he'd like to go back some day because he likes academics and feels like he missed out on college.  I don't think Pat or Tommy went to college but I could be wrong.  No idea on Bo or Carl.

Patrick said in an interview with DrumMagazine.com ("My Morning Jacket Does An About Face") that he went to UK for a short time....

"In 1997 Hallahan enrolled in the University Of Louisville, spending much of his time outside the classroom playing in bands. College became a pursuit more in body than spirit, and his grades started slipping. "I was showing up to class with one eye open," he says. "I ended up taking a break. I didn't want my GPA to suffer any more than it had."

I believe at an Austin City Limits Jim mentioned when he was in college for a minute. It was towards the end of the set. It was a small story leading into thanking Yo La Tengo playing with them.
The fact that my hearts beating, is all the proof you need.

Great interview! Thanks! I thought Patrick was from Louisville, though...? And they cite MMJ as being a Tennessee-based band.

Ha, I didn't even catch that...looks like Drum Magazine didn't do their homework!

I loved the part about them looking for hot dogs and walking outside of their hotel to just be smacked in the face with the Village Halloween Parade...I live in NYC and go to the Parade every year. If you've never been before you're like, "Wtf is this?!" It's like, freaks everywhere haha

P.S. random factoid, the article describes them leaving their hotel at 7th Ave and 23rd street, which should make it the Chelsea Hotel. That's the hotel that Sid Vicious' girlfriend Nancy Spungen was murdered in, in 1978. Creeptastic!

I read somewhere recently that Two Tone was going to college for Creative Writing and would have been a high school english teacher if he didn't drop out to be in a band.

Yeah he told a story about how he would be walking home past a softball field and listening to "Center of Gravity" and the song would just capture him for being a moment of pure synchronicity and simple beauty
