I was about to start a thread on this, you beat me to it. Definitely diggin' this album a lot more than the previous one. They really refined their sound me thinks. Only For You is an early favorite.

I've heard they're good live too:

Heartless Bastards are WAY awesome live! Can't wait for that Tulsa show.

Strongly considering picking up a last-minute ticket for their show tonight with Hacienda. Haven't seen the Bastards live in six years, but it sounds like they've come a long way. Really enjoying their new sound.

Holy cats! I came here this morning with the sole purpose to post about this band. Luckily they're playing with Hacienda in Philly Saturday!
The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

the bass on this album is durty, 3 spins later and this one has really grown on me. I'll be at the Birmingham show! (possible new favorite for 2012?)

Arrow has been somewhat of a revelation for me.  It's outstanding!  Very much looking forward to their show next week..  loves me some Hacienda as well.

Happy to see the enthusiasm!  One of the few bands I've been jonesin to see for some time now but their live shows always elude me (them and J Roddy).  I think this album could easily end up near the top of my 2012 list...it keeps getting better with each listen and my favorite track changes constantly too.

new album is superbbbbbbb! i think they keep getting better, too...love 'marathon'

I love the first half of the album, then it peeters out for a bit for me.   But that often happens when listening to new music for me.   Sometimes I think I should start in the middle.

I was gonna say man, that last track is channeling some major Sabbath right there.  Love it!

Saw HB two nights ago for the first time, and I was blown away. The new album (still my favorite this year) translates incredibly well live...really some powerful stuff, and they definitely channel some Zeppelin during build-ups. Not to mention Erika's pipes. She's hands down one of the best vocalists I've seen live.

Go out and see 'em!

P.S. Shared some time with the lead guitarist and bassist afterwards and they were incredibly cool despite being road-worn. They asked if I had any strip clubs to recommend, but - alas - I did not.

Interesting review here

i wish musicians would do that more often--it's kind of bad ass
(awkward though if the noise is coming from other patrons there NOT for the show)
