So was Jim playing an electic bass not plugged in, just being picked up by the microphone in front of it on Revolutionary Mind?  It's an interesting tone.

Mostly listening at work and didn't notice.   That is interesting.   I want to go back now and check it out.
It was a nice tone that popped.  I've never played a hollow bodied electric bass and I'd imagine it would be possible and though I have nothing to back that up with, I'd venture it was still plugged in.  Hell, I didn't even look at any cords to check so.... :-\

I've got a hollow-body acoustic bass and I play it unplugged.  You can hear it fine...though I would never describe it as loud.   I'm not sure if Jim was plugged in or maybe mic'd somewhere.  Doubt his vocal mic could pick up anything worthwhile, but I could be very, very wrong.

If anyone can, please capture the stream for Amoeba Records. Who knows if this one will be archived.

I did notice that there were several archived episodes per week on that site.  I'll bet it will be on there in the next couple of days....
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

The Amoeba stream did happen.  I watched it for about 30 min then it froze up right at the end of Old LA and never unfroze.  It almost seemed like they were ending on that song, but Jim had brought some crazy sitar-like instrument onstage with him that I don't think he had played yet, so maybe there was more.

Really enjoyed it and hearing the songs a bit more stripped down.  I don't know yet if the actual shows are more electric.  I at least hope that the proper shows are still just the four of them.

Very excited for The Birchmere show on Monday.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

You know what I love about this place? I can miss something I wanted to see/hear, and before I have time to lament, it is available. That shit's rad. Thanks to whomever posted this stream.

This is just what I needed tonight.

Amoeba and KCRW both archive all of their live shows. I was front center with Ms Yvon and Ru-day. I got good video of the first and last song, which was Old L.A. I got great photos of each guy and some combos, will take a while to upload. At the very beginning, Jim smiles, nods, and waved to Ms. Yvon, who BTW not only has great taste in music, but is a huge baseball fan.  :D Anders Parker is one great talent. He and Jim COMPLETELY upstaged Will and Jay at the Mayan show last night.

What was Jim's solo song at the Mayan?

Wonderful, with an ending where he just exhibited his vocal skill, not dissimilar to what a dog does when they howl, or seem to be trying to talk. I am not diminishing this at all, just don't know any other way to describe it. It was beautiful. As American Dad says, "I hear the voice of an angel."

:) Thanks - I know what you mean - he did this in SF too and it was great.
