Good to hear! I am far from giving up on them. They are very, very dear to my heart, and I look forward to seeing them in Central Park this fall (if not sooner).

I just remembered that I also saw them at Mountain Jam last year, lol. Somehow I had forgotten that. That was fun but I liked their regular show better.

Quote from: tbear on Apr 25, 2012, 06:32 PM(Side Note: I have LOVED the Avett Brothers for several years now, but I am pretty worried about their current direction. I did not love the last album (I consider their album Emotionalism in my top 10). And the last time I saw them, at RCMH, it felt like they were trying to change their sound to fit bigger rooms - e.g. adding a drummer. RCMH IS murder (in the city) on allot of bands, though.)

Not to sidetrack the thread but I just saw the Avett Bros this past Sunday and thought it was awesome. It was my first show of theirs, and I am totally late to the party, but I dig their style. The did have a drummer, but he only played on fewer than half of the songs. I look forward to hearing more of their older albums

Agreed with most said about Avett Brothers, and have been making the M&S comparison for awhile.  It seems like most Mumford and Sons fans don't even know about Avett Brothers. Disagree with the comment about I & Love & you though, I think it's their best album. Do Avett Brothers fans actually think drums are a bad thing? They may have opened their sound up more but they still sound like the Avett brothers. I'm seeing them soon for my second time, can't wait!
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Mumford and Sons continue to be overrated.

I gotta claim clueless when it comes to Mumford and Sons. They're playing 3 shows in a row at The Ryman and my sister wanted me to get a couple tix for her son. So I'm like, all-right, and went waltzing into Ticketmaster about 15 minutes after they went on sale and the best I could find was singles for each night. They sold out 3 shows in about 20 minutes and I still can't tell you 1 song they do. Weird.

How is Mumford and Sons playing 3 shows? Don't they only have one album?  Also, isn't every song on the album the same?
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

My guess is that every night it's the same set. They are the AC/DC of pop folk rock - which I have no idea if it is a thing.

How does Band of Horses have more likes than Wilco and MMJ? Mumford and Sons continue to be overrated.

Easy. I know many sorority types who OMG LOOVEEEEEE Band of Horses. Well, that one song anyway. You know, the one that's like a slow MMJ song, except more sleepy.

Devil Ledbetter

Bored of Boring.

I've seen them in concert twice now. They are not "bad" just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. And then I look at that itty bitty lead singer and he's all sweaty and I can't even understand why, because he's not really doing anything.

Maybe he has glandular issues.

I do like their guitarist though, the tall one, whatever his name is. My guitar teacher makes me grow my fingernails long on my right hand for finger picking, and in Detroit I noticed he keeps his that way.

Forgive me for not knowing their names.

Best award I never received. Ben is a sweaty, oily thing, Devil. You should have seen him at Alpharetta - I just wanted to wash him.

Thank you Tracy. I am going to put that award on my mantle.

And not in a good way, the way I want to wash 1970s David Gilmour's hair.

You guys could probably start a drinking game based on every time I work David Gilmour into a conversation that has nothing to do with Pink Floyd.

I've never felt that way about boys, but loving Pink Floyd the way I did when I was a teenager and pictures of Gilmour like this made me feel funny:

It was pretty much the guitar god thing, I mean, I sure didn't want to wash his hair.

Drink, DL!

I can relate to this post. I, too, never wanted to wash his hair but I did think that someone might mention to him that HE might want to wash his hair.
