I like that review, well summed up. Agreed with most of his takes.  Not sure I could say that night three was 'the best', but it's like trying to choose between children (at least I imagine), each night was special in it's own way.

Hey gardenparty..LD here..It was nice meeting you too!!!Drive went smoothly but a little melancholy that the 3 run is over!! Spent time digesting  the whole experience on the way home and like we both said after the 3rd show, night 1 and 3 were close!!

The entire vibe on the first night made it epic for me!  Hearing Rocket Man, It Makes No Difference and Gideon were highlights for me!!  Last night, Oh Sweet Nuthin and  DanceFloors were my other highlights,  and experiencing everyone singing along and dancing to Lionel Richie's All Night Long was such a feel good moment!!  I also met Gideon on the last night, thanks tube top for that--he's cuter in person   A big thanks to vespachick for keeping the personnel at the Wiltern in line for catering to Roll Call people!!! Good times everyone and hope to see ya'll soon!!
It's too late to play it safe so let's let it all ride

Absolutely no way to logically rank these show. What I have read here, and in the reviews, is debating 1 or 3 as the best show. I have no horse in this race, but how could show 2, with Steam Engine, Mahgetah, Cobra, Tyrone, and O is the one, plus a few more gems,be possibly considered the least of the three?

Ranking them is impossible for me.  Night one was amazing because it 'kicked off' the run, so much anticipation.  The close night three, with the rousing All Night Long, Move On Up, into the tradional closing OBH, such a great finale.  But like you said, night two?  How could you rank that 'below' anything.  For me at least, hearing Tyrone for the first time, my favorite of their 'regular' covers, It Makes No Difference w/ Sam Beam (I love The Band), Steam Engine - a top 5 favorite for me, and my first O is the One, that set takes a backseat to no set.  As others have said, so much goodness...

I got a finger touch during Touch Me Part 1 and Victory Dance from Jim on Night 3.

But at the end of Night 2 Jim gave me a huge high five right after the closer Mahgeetah.

So I was the only one he touched during the show except Sam during the George Harrison song.
AH MAH GAH!  Going for fingertouching at the Greek.  I've gotten a couple hard core stares and a definite wave.   But never actual physical contact (save for my kick ass avatar, oh yeah.)  I'm ok with my stalkerishness.  Let's just hope that everyone else is.

Sorry Erik, but It Makes No Difference was night one. Like for you and me any of it Makes Any Difference. (the irony was not intended, it just happened)

Ah, right you are, maybe night one was the best... Nah, just kidding.  I of course meant Isn't It A Pity.  Everything else I wrote stands though, just sub in Isn't It A Pity w/ Sam Beam and (I love George Harrison) and I still could never put them in any particular order.

I don't think I'd trade any of the nights for any other live music experience I have every had.  As you wrote in another post, the venue was an amazing spot for the run, big enough for the band, but intimate too.  The sound was great, the sight lines were great, I even thought the crowd was decent, nothing detracted from my experience.

The only downside... Now I feel like an addict, I just want more!

I've seen night 1 referred to as the "dark" set around here and night 2 referred to as more "rock n roll" - well night 3 to me seemed like The Awesome Feel Good/Everybody Love Each Other set.  The band was just smoking (as they were all nights) - but last night was a real party at the Wiltern.  So much dancing and fun had.

Lionel Richie - All Night Long -!!!!!  Holy crap was this a great version of the song...

Loved the horn sectiong - Dancefloors was killer.

Dondante was magnificent!!!  This was my favorite thing from all 3 nights combined - so psychedelic and epic.  Well done.

Outta My System was the shit live.  What a great song!

I also want to give some love to Oh Sweet Nuthin - which rocked my socks off.

My girlfriend and I managed to make it to all three nights.  We were in the pit closer to the center of the stage on night 2 and we were right in front of Jim last night, which was a great place to be.  We got setlists from night 2 and 3, thanks to my girlfriend of course (they don't hand those things out to guys it seems...)  I can't pick a favorite of the 3 nights, each was unique and special in it's own right.  It was a ridiculous, fun, psychedelic experience overall and now I can say, with certainty, that I will never miss another My Morning Jacket show when they come to town.  This band is seriously on fire and love what they do.  And they kick serious ass, as well.

Thank you to everyone at My Morning Jacket for a kick butt week!
I was sitting at the bar chairs in the back until Dondante. I wormed my way up to just second in front of Jim for OBH. During the solo he kicked his boot out and a girl grabbed the toe of his boot, and Jim let her hold it a couple of seconds directly in front of me. Was that your girlfriend?

We were just a few people over toward house right from where the kicking was going on.  We were almost right in front of Jim's mic/monitors.

I remember reading this in my room before the show Thursday and enjoyed it:

http://blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsound/2012/09/my_morning_jacket_the_wiltern_september_12_2012.php

At the end of the article it states, "Random Notebook Dump: Shout out to the drunk mom who groped me during "Evil Urges." Appropriate timing." Well, Vespa, I think you have some explainin' to do.  :bath:

Hey! I was never drunk at any of these shows! (RR is a different story)

I totally get that.

I have a favorite from the T5 shows, but can't really rank the rest of them. When I look back, it's more like one event. Five shows with a 24 hour encore break in between.  (48 for ISM-Z)
"Where's Jim going?"

Could not agree more about it being more like one event.

No I got the clean poster with lyrics, I'll post pics later. Maybe the 2nd one Sam Handed out.

I was on the rail the 2nd two nights with the Flask and E Cigs.

Maybe the best part of night one was when my awesome wife was rocking out to Gideon as hard as I was!  Its not that often that she joins me in some good old head-banging, air guitar slinging, but she did on this one and that was great!

Other moments that blew me away:
Carl and Bo's incredible backing vocals on Rocket Man, it sounded like a choir of angels!

The moment I had during It Makes No Difference, thinking about the hard lives and sad endings of Rick Danko and Richard Manuel, juxtaposed with all the joy they brought to so many and the high price they paid to do it, the song for me just went up to them like a prayer, hoping for some peace and comfort for their souls, wherever they are.
