The new polls have the Crimson Tide at #4. I have Notre Dame losing to USC so with Alabama likely playing #5 Georgia in the SEC Championship, a win should be high enough to boost them into the title game if either Oregon or Kansas St. were to falter.

The Bama Bear

Alright, so once again Alabama needs help from other teams to make it to the BCS title game. I really haven't been that impressed with Notre Dame as of late but perhaps they've just been playing WAY down against Pitt and BC but if they keep it up, USC should have no trouble knocking them off.
Oregon's defense is starting to wear down as the season comes to a close and they still have to huge games left on their schedule, Stanford and Oregon State. If they win both of those, then props to the Ducks!
Kansas State is a team that I really can't see losing. They close out their season against Texas on December 1st but now I'm sooo wishing that the Big 12 could still have a title game, haha.

Alabama just couldn't survive running the gauntlet down the stretch. Manziel is a hell of a football player and he will be shedding record books and defenses for the next few years. Hopefully the Tide will roll up our last two opponents and can pull things together in time for the Georgia Bulldogs.

I know it's unlikely...BUT if #1, 2, AND 3 lose a game in the next few weeks then we will be looking at another all-SEC championship game, with Florida facing the winner of Bama/UGA!

If & when Auburn loses to Alabama A&M this weekend, they have to fire Chizik IMMEDIATELY...right?

I see ND losing to USC and KSU losing to Texas. I think KSU will choke, plain and simple. Plus, Georgia is playing really good football and Alabama's D got exposed over the last few weeks, so UGA has an outsiders chance.

Should be interesting

I think Alabama and Georgia are better football teams than KSU and ND but I also think USC and Texas are pretty darn mediocre this year at best, so I expect the streak to come to an end.    If no SEC, I'd prefer a KSU/Oregon matchup.

I don't know about that.  If Johnny Football can go into Tuscaloosa and do what he did to Alabama as a true freshman, why should I not believe Collin Klein couldn't do something similar or even better?  KSU has done nothing to show me they don't deserve a shot at playing for the BCS Championship if they win out.  ND on the other hand?  They have been using the luck of the Irish it seems week in and week out.  Even with USC being somewhat mediocre, I'm wondering just how long the Irish luck can keep going.  Just a few examples of why I don't think ND is as good as their record might indicate:  they needed 6 Michigan turnovers at home to beat the Wolverines by just a touchdown?  It took a questionable call in OT vs. Stanford to preserve a win in that game?  It took a monster comeback in OT to get over a Pittsburgh team that folded like a deck of cards.  Oh and did I mention that Youngstown State beat Pittsburgh???  About the only game the Irish looked legit this season was against OU and we all know OU's pension for choking in big games that don't involve Texas...

My dream would be to see Oregon, KSU and ND all run the table and then see ND get the shaft and watch the Domer nation go into meltdown mode!  I'd pay money to watch that!

Look at that, #1 AND #2 both lose. I felt upsets were on the way. Well, like I stated, the SEC is once again on track for 7 straight!

What a crazy day for football! As a uga fan/student, I'm stoked that we control our own destiny now...if ND loses to USC, there could be 2 sec teams in the ship again, but I'd like to see the ducks get the bid

I think it will be the winner of the SEC championship game and the winner of the FSU-Florida game if ND would stumble.  The two biggest games left on the schedule.

If Oregon wins out, no way the winner of UF/FSU jumps the Ducks if ND happens to lose.  FSU plays in the very weak ACC and lost to a bad NC St team.  Personally, I don't see UF being able to score on FSU so I don't see them winning that game.

I also don't see ND losing to USC next week especially if Matt Barkley can't go.

Oh and GO BLUE!  Beat Ohio!!!

Lets see, Florida already 4 and if they win at FSU they will not drop.
CPU has Florida at #2 because of strength of schedule and Oregon down at #8.
I don't see them being able to make up that much ground because the PAC-12 isn't that strong either.

ND shouldn't loose, but college football has a funny way of having upsets happen.

I guess FSU is pretty far back at 10 but they do play UF and I thought that might make the polls move them up if they win impressively, but the CPU are just killing them as the ACC other than Clemson has been dreadful this year.

I'm not sure how Georgia will do against a team like Alabama. Giving up 23 points to Buffalo, 20 to Florida Atlantic, 44 to UT and 24 to Kentucky is going to be problem if that particular Georgia defense shows up. I'm all for a 2 SEC team championship. I just don't understand how some people can claim other conferences are better or that the SEC is overrated

Tracy 2112

ND should have lost to Pitt at home; their kicker missed a game winner in OT. ND did beat OK in Norman. So, ND is capable of either losing or winning against USC, who knows what will happen Saturday.

I am just glad the SEC is back in.

I made my post before the BcS rankings came out and Oregon was sitting ahead of UF in both the Coach's Poll and the AP Poll.  Should have known the BcS would give the nod to an SEC team...

Why do so many SEC people get so defensive from a little needling or better yet, go on the offensive as a preemptive defensive stance?     Yes, the best college football of the last ten years has been played in that conference and its schools have some of the most passionate fan bases.  It's no different than Duke or the Yankees though.  If it's shoved in your face 24/7 and fans become overzealous, some people are going to dislike it from over exposure and general obnoxiousness of the fan.  However, I do love what Coach Sumlin and Manziell are doing as the newbs in there.

I was sad to see Oregon lose because I was really pulling for them.  That said, it's remarkable what Stanford is able to accomplish year in and year out with their academic eligibility requirements and tough conference.  Hats off to them for another excellent year.

I don't see Florida beating FL. State.  I think UF has been playing way over their heads all season and are finally coming back down to Earth.  31-17 FSU.  I think either team will get smoked if they make it to the NC.

The Bama Bear

wooo, Saturday night was great! I was at WorkPlay in Birmingham watching Justin Townes Earle w/ Tift Merritt. Just as JTE's show had ended, people started funneling out of the performance hall and into the WorkPlay lobby. The Oregon/Stanford game was on every TV and people were frozen in their spots, with eyes glued to the TV screen. It was just a moment later that Stanford kicked the game-winning FG and the entire lobby went apeshit. I had an Auburn fan scramble by me and take off to the bathroom yelling something about how Alabama sucks because we didn't go undefeated for the second year in a row but still control our own destiny. The token Auburn fan kind of made the whole spur of the moment celebration all the more enjoyable though.

Anyway, Matt Barkley is out this week for the game against Notre Dame. I'm not saying ND is a shoe-in for the title game now, but that helps them out a whole lot.

I definitely respect Georgia this year, and expect a hell of a game in ATL here in a couple of weeks. But for now, I just want to see Alabama beat the Chizik out of Auburn on Saturday.

Also, Les Miles. Don't forget about LSU looming in the mix.

They are fun to cheer for.
As an aside, I appreciate your usage of Manziel's real name.  How in the shit does a true freshman earn the name Johnny Football?  He's got ridiculous talent, no doubt, and he very well may be worthy of that nickname - eventually.  But a freshman with possibly one of the coolest and most complimentary nicknames of all time? pfffft.

You picked the wrong time to get caught cheating I guess.

Word is Oregon might be getting some NCAA love here soon from the Lyles issue a year or two back.
