thanks!  And Ground Control is unbelievable.  No help whatsoever in their Customer Service.  And the shipping options for Roll Call, $13.54 price for a $29.99 order, even worse than Ticketmaster.  Might be time not to be a fan club person anymore, this is f'ed!

There is a great deal of animus today regarding people not being able to get three-day passes/tickets for the Port Chester, NY and Boston, MA shows...i myself was unable to score tickets to Port Chester. Therefore, there have been a great deal of noise with people bashing Roll Call, and even more for GroundCTRL. While I am not in a position to make any statements regarding GroundCTRL, remember that being a member of Roll Call is also about having access to the community of MMJ fans...not just about scoring tickets early. All of that said...well typed, I too will be doing my best to get a pair of three-day passes for Port Chester on Friday. Good luck to everyone who will be doing the same, and thank you to everyone whose energy and excitement makes this such a fun environment!

I appreciate your sentiment with the line "being a member of Roll Call is also about having access to the community of MMJ fans" but I don't totally agree with it. To me, I've been able to "access" the community of MMJ fans for years....even before Roll Call. Coming to this forum (lurking mostly  ) and meeting/talking to people at shows.....that's what I think of when I think of the MMJ community of fans.

For me (and I know most people will have differing viewpoints) the roll call subscription was a way to:

1.) Support the band I love.
1.) Make sure I don't miss any MMJ news or shows
2.) Gain early entry to shows
3.) Get exclusive downloads (still waiting on some more of these...what happened to the hypnotism stuff?)

I've seen people complain that the price for Roll Call isn't worth the T-shirt/Poster combo they give but for me that stuff is just bonus. An extra gift on top of the opportunities that the fan club has given me.

So when I hear about a 3-night run that I absolutely can not miss and I'm told that because I paid a fee and am a member of the fan club that I will be able to get tickets early I admittedly get my hopes up. When I'm denied those tickets immediately (was on the site at 12:00 p.m. EST) I get pretty disappointed.

Now I'm not one of the people saying "fuck roll call" or "why did I even pay for this subscription?" because I know that it's just a bump in the road. I have benefitted from Roll Call already (early tickets and early entry to the Brooklyn show) so I don't have much to complain about. I'm hopeful that Friday is much smoother (like others are predicting). I really can't miss these shows. From the moment they were announced I knew I'd have to see all of them.

I'm over it now.  I was pissed at the time because I specifically re-upped my Roll Call membership for the purpose of having the opportunity to purchase pre-sale tix for this 3 night run in Port Chester.  As for joining Roll Call to have access to the MMJ community, was it not the inclusion of Roll Callers getting special priveledges in the forum that nearly tore this once close nit MMJ community apart?  I had planned on upping my Roll Call membership up until all hell broke loose with grnd ctrl effing up the forum and all of the other bullshit that went along with that whole fiasco and then I took the attitude of, who needs Roll Call?!  It had served me well for the first year, but was it really needed? 

I hadn't planned on making the trek to NY to see this 3 night run until earlier this week when it was announced that these would be 'no repeat' shows.  That, along with seeing the changes finally come to this beloved forum made me take the plunge and re-up Roll Call for another year with the hopes of scoring presale tickets.  Now, it just feels like I paid for an expensive t-shirt?!   I get that there was only a limited number of tix that were available and when you have a small venue like the Palace, that number is even fewer, but to see everything sold out in less than a minute was quite shocking to me and that is what made me angered and annoyed and mostly disappointed.

All in all, it's out of my control now.  If I get tix on Friday than I will be SUPER stoked.  If not, I guess it was just not meant to be and I will just have to look forward to hearing all of the awesome stories and wait for the digital downloads like I did with Red Rocks and hopefully for the Wiltern shows as well!
