Thanks for sharing the stories and videos.

Anyone's else catch Carl almost loose his guitar at the 3:30 mark of It makes no difference?

Looks like from the posted videos, there were some Pro-cameras and camera ops in the building.

To anyone who went, were there projection screens?

No screens at all. Also, I don't think this was streaming live. Seems to me they were filming for a DVD or special or something along those lines.

You knew where I was going with that, thanks for the reply!

No problem. There were two cameras on either side of the soundboard (one on each side) and there were a few roaming cameras on stage and on the floor.

I noticed in this vid, at 2:10, when Roger takes the second verse, a cameraman sets up for a close up.  I'd expect a DVD or HBO special or something.  Who produced the event?

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Here's what I read:

Don Was and Larry Campbell will lead the all-star band with Keith Wortman (We Walk the Line: A Celebration of the Music of Johnny Cash) producing.

Edit: Reading this now it seems like he was just a producer for this show and not so much for some DVD release. Still, they were filming a lot for something...

Well look at what I found. This is from b102.7 which is a radio station (i'm assuming it's the one that was mentioned at the beginning of the show as sponsoring it or something). Anyway, onto the details:

The show was filmed for a TV special and a DVD and CD release early next year. Proceeds will go to help paying the mortgage for Levon's home and barn in Woodstock, New York, which houses a recording studio and where his Midnight Ramble shows are held.

I'm hearing from friends that were there who weren't MMJ fans going in, that MMJ blew them away! They are now set on catching a live Jacket show......Well duh! What the hell do you think I've been saying for years!

One said "they f*ckin kicked ass"! "Wow".

I'd say they made more than a few new fans last night.
A friend texted me from the show last night and said "I know you're a huge MMJ fan, and I've never seen them before...just wanted you to know that your boys are killing it right now!!"  He then proceeded to remind me about how he's a tough sell and they totally won him over.  Yeah, I think they did the job last night!!

I had a similar reaction from a good friend who went with his wife. They aren't very familiar with MMJ but he knows I'm a big fan. So the next day he sent me an e-mail: "I have to say, your boys MMJ blew the roof off the joint". This is coming from a huge music fan and  an excellent musician in his own right.

What an incredible night, so glad I went.  Thank you Levon!

Great, fun version, but man, I'm still a bit dizzy from watching that one, and haven't even had a cocktail yet tonight..

Roger Waters and My Morning Jacket - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - Love For Levon 10-3-12

Ok I can't really tell but is that G.E Smith on guitar by Jim and Roger at the end?
SNL Creepy yes, but very talented

Yup, that was GE Smith. He played in Roger Waters band during the Wall tour. Drummer Steve Jordan was out there as well for a few tunes which I don't think many people noticed. Some serious talent behind the skins that night!

MamaKel

What?! GE Smith?!!! My dad used to tell me I looked like GE Smith when I was 7.

"For those who missed the concert, don't worry: the performances will be shown on AXS TV and released on DVD at a later date. All proceeds of the event went to Helm's recording studio barn in Woodstock, N.Y."
