I heard this last night for the first time in awhile.  I could listen to this song on repeat, and probably will today!  This was our first dance at our wedding.  What were (will be) some of yours?

Our song.  We specified that it must be the Jerry version!

Low - Two-Step

Our first dance. First song my husband ever played for me on his radio show when we began dating
Babe, let's get one thing clear, there's much more stardust when you're near.

My Mom surprised Michele and I with an original composition she wrote and recorded for our wedding.  First Waltz was played for our first dance that fateful day in 1996.

For my wedding, my wife and I danced to If You Were The Woman And I Was The Man by the Cowboy Junkies featuring John Prine:

Cowboy Junkies (Ft John Prine) - If you were the woman and I was the man

I had always thought this would be a great song to be played at my wedding and one night, hanging out with my best friend and his fiance along with her best friend (my future wife) we were talking about what song they should choose for their upcoming wedding.  She said If You Were The Woman was a song she wanted played at her wedding and it was at that point that I knew I was going to marry that girl!   :cheesy:  About 18 months later, we were dancing to this song in our wedding...

These are all great.

John, that's a beautiful composition your mother wrote.  That's pretty damn neat.

Our version was performed by Anders Osborne w/ guests Kirk Joseph & Glenn "Kul" Sears.

By the way, Anders also learned Hava Nagila specifically for our wedding.  It was the most raucous Hora you've ever seen.

Sam Cooke Bring It Home To Me
what Madonna said really helped

Thanks, Jon.  I'll share that with her; it'll make her day.

Well, this isn't the first time I've been wrong and it won't be the last.

Inspired by this thread, I tried to remember what song we walked down the aisle to and couldn't. Good thing I archive half of my life online!  I went to an old blog post and discovered that I'd posted our entire wedding playlist online. Our entire playlist was on an ipod, hooked through a Mac and then into the PA. We were poor, so we hiring someone to play shitty music when we could just program all our own beloved tunes - well, that was an easy expense to get rid of.

So, I didn't dance to Low for our first dance. Instead, it was Harvest Moon by Neil Young. We were channeling our future selves :)

The last song of the night was inspired by the tween dances I went to at a rec centre. The DJ hated Zeppelin and would forgo the traditional final song and instead play Behind Blue Eyes. I totally approved

If you are curious, here's the playlist from our 2005 wedding.

Song I walked down the aisle to:
Be My Baby, Ronnettes

Song Sean and I walked back up the aisle to:
Let's Fall In Love, Cole Porter as sung by Alanis Morisette
