Pretty standard setlist all in all, but it was very well played.  The whole event was very cool and it was much more than just the MMJ set.  I really enjoyed all the acts that played, particularly Steve Earle.  The Preservation Hall set was great, too, and it featured Jim on two songs (St. James Infirmary and Louisiana Fairytale) and Steve Earle on one (This City).

My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Nope  :embarrassed: but I'm sure he will treasure it.

On a similar note, our very own ericm was able to hand some goodies off to Carl...but I'll let him share that story

Fun night, and a great way to start the year!  Can't wait for the next announcement!

Totally agree Trish! I had a blast, and while it was the end to a great run of MMJ shows, it was an awesome, inspiring way to start the year.

I thought all the performers were great last night, and I was so impressed with how genuine they all were, and thankful for their support to the relief effort.

I was able to hand off some tee shirts to Carl, and even got to have a little chat with him about them back at the hotel after the show. Basically went up to thank him for doing the show, and he saw the shirt I was wearing, thanked me for theirs, and wanted to know the scoop.

The shirts were made by a local LBI surf company called Jetty, and all the proceeds go to the support of the relief effort. Jetty has donated thousands of dollars, food, time, and anything they could do to help from day 1. They designed the shirt, and they were a super hot item over the holidays, but I was lucky to get my hands on five for the guys yesterday before heading up to Asbury.

Here's a link to the shirt, and if anyone wants to purchase, the relief effort is still ongoing.

Yes, as MMJ goes you didn't miss much, but it was a very cool event overall and nice to end the run with a more intimate show given the hugeness of Boston.

That was awesome to see!! I was standing next to Eric during last nights show. Pretty cool when Carl came over and grabbed the bag of shirts. Great show and great way to end the year with 3 nights in pc and start the year supporting our home towns with our favorite band!! Here's to an even better 2013... Even though it will be tough to compete with last year!

Were you standing next to me? I'm the one who pushed the girl's hand out of my face, then they started some crap.
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

The whole 5-pack was just an amazing week of great friends, laughter, music, and even a couple of tears in Asbury.

The Benefit was just the perfect cap to all the shows, and as a Jacket fan living on the Jersey Shore, I can't even put into words how happy, and proud I am to be a fan of this great band.

I was fortunate enough to thank a few of the guys personally back at the hotel after the show. They were all really genuine, and even asked about my own personal experiences with the storm. Really blew me away, but then again, not surprised. I had to share this little diddy with all of you here. When I thanked Jim for doing the show, and shared a couple of thoughts, he shook my hand, and said  " hey man, we love it here. Glad to help, we're  all in this together, you know."

And with that, came the end of my 5-pack and I headed home. No way this past week could've been better. Thanks  to everyone I got to share some time with, and can't wait to get together again.

We don't know one another but  from a fellow Jersey Shore resident (Red Bank, close enough). AP was a fantastic time and wonderful way to start 2013! Thanks guys!

ericm

Same here Woody.  hope you fared ok in Red Bank.

Wish we could've met, and hung out for a few, but we'll have to do it next time around.

Having grown up at the shore (Brick) and moved away and seeing all that so many friends & family have gone through and continue to go through, this whole night was absolutely wonderful. To see it capped off with PHJB joining the boys on stage made it that much better. A heartfelt thank you to all who put the night together.

Ericm, hearing your story of JJ's comments isn't surprising, but it does reinforce the feeling of community & connectedness that filled the room that night. Love it!

Peace...
