Good choice for Ordinary world by Duran Duran.

They do a great cover of Led Zeppelin's Thank You!

SixProudWalkers

I'd give up my left ball for MMJ to cover Morning Dew (I'd say "by the Grateful Dead", but it isn't)

Yeah I'm not sure if it's an old standard, but the first time I ever heard it was the Jeff Beck band with Rod Stewart singing. It's also one of the best versions I've ever heard and I absolutely LOVE the way Jerry sings it.

jaye

This would be for a time when they have a band with a horn section opening

Al Green - Love and Happiness (Studio Version)

If we were talking practically I'd say that Carl and Jim could easily handle all the vocal parts, but since we are talking about my dreams I will give that part to a children's choir that has some funky dance moves.

I hear you, but I'm sorry, only some seriously badass women in very tight black dresses could be trusted with the particular HOOOOO that I am talking about.

Although that is certainly the spirit of the original recording, I think Jim James could handle that noise sufficiently. With some additional voices backing him he would sound different from the recording, but equally majestic.

To prove I know what noise you're referring to that exact glorious moment is at 4:23 Post Toastee by Tommy Bolin

Bill Withers - Just the Two of Us.

Great song with great sax work.  BW tunes were seemingly made for JJs voice.

listening to Roxy Music "Avalon" right now...and shit, MMJ would kill any song off this album....
just heard Roxy Music, "Mother of Pearl" on the radio and it made me think of this thread.  don't know that MOP would be the song, but ANY Roxy song would blow my mind.
