Listen I wasn't at Wiltern nor was I at all 3 PC nights. But Night One was the best concert I've ever seen. Hands down. Beats out 'Roo 06 and NYE '09 and Forecastle and any of the other dozens of shows I've been to. We crossed some line during that night - in to a new realm. To me, it's my level of Hunter Thompson's "beautiful wave". Songs weren't played in the same way they always have and they played a true "fan's set" in my opinion - a level of awareness that indicates to me they're starting to become self-aware.

MMJ is Skynet.

Agree with this (Somewhat!) hands down one of the best ever. After Night 1, I wondered how they would top that. It was special...brought out the oldies, kept the newiest to a minimum...great covers...Strangulation was so intense...I'm pretty sure Ruckus peed his pants.
True story.

Obviously I wasn't at the Wiltern and no repeats wasn't as novel having done T5.  But this was my first time at Capitol Theater and I can't say enough about that place.  They did everything right!  Sloped carpeted floor, amazing lighting and projection system, smoking area, bars everywhere and off course the impeccable sound.  Only issue was the urinals made for stick figures.  Could only go three wide on the five urinals or stagger your distance.  People in the 1930's must have been real skinny or their penises were connected to their hips.

Interesting how awesome The Capital was and then we went to Agannis where the beer line was ridiculously slow (40min no shit), under 25 couldn't buy beer, only one beer per person per trip. Didn't police the assigned seating, so many people came up and crowded our row trying to take our spots. The Capital was heaven and a great venue. The bars were plentiful, never a wait, on the first night we even had a waitress serve us until she couldn't get to the rail anymore.

Listening to night two now: did the wiltern have so much variation on the songs? If not, no contest.

First of all Y'all, I was lucky enough to be at Forecastle, both Red Rocks, all 3 Wiltern, all 3 Portchester, New Years, and some other random shows this year.

As far as Wiltern vs. Portchester? hands down Porchester CRUSHED! on paper The Wiltern might seem better, and dont get me wrong those shows were up there. But a lot of the songs seemed to get played quick. Fuckin great shows though.

However Jim didnt say one word to the crowd at the Wiltern & half the crowd all 3 nights were Dbags, no offense.

Portchester was so soulful, the setlists were great, and the crowd was there to see the shows not to be seen. Welcome Home!?!

And the repeats between the 2 shows...no comparison, Portchester! That Carried Away, Makes No Difference (in Levon country) and DONDONTE was worth the price of admission. And the O at Portchester crushed The Wiltern's.

Having said that RED ROCKS WAS A GAME CHANGER!!!! RED ROCKS was IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Pardon the ramblings, Just one guys opinion.

Them that don't know him won't like him and them that do, sometimes won't know how to take him

Yes I would say that is lucky enough.  Quite an impressive run.  But I hope your luck continues.
