Wiltern had about 5 or 6 bars, two of them in the audience area. $26 for 2 beers, but no lines and no missed music. If only they had urinals in the audience!
Game-winning idea!  Lined up along the rail, yes!
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Which reminds me of standing in the pit at bonnaroo  waiting to see Jay Z realizing the guy next to me was peeing where he stood. Got on my sandal covered feet. Ewwww. Needless to say, he did not become my  rail buddy.

Maybe add vomit troughs as well, as I heard some needed up at the rail for the Jazz Fest set.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

You're asking for it now, Whippet.

Since I only saw three shows this year, this is my easy list:

Red Rocks night 2 (that encore just killed me)
Red Rocks night 1
The Greek

anything + reverb always = better

Ruckus

Nice call on that Utrecht Tivoli show logan5ive.  I think that setlist and especially the Gronningen Oosterport showed just how real this year was going to be.

 - 6/20/12-Oosterport

At Dawn
The Dark
Holdin On To Black Metal
You Wanna Freak Out
Wonderful (The Way I Feel)
The Bear
Circuital
X-Mas Curtain
Lay Low
War Begun
I Will Sing You Songs
Anytime
Dancefloors
Steam Engine
Encore:
Strangulation!
It Beats 4 U
Victory Dance
One Big Holiday

As for me, I attended six shows and five were pretty interchangeable, those being the three Port Chesters, Forecastle, and Merriweather.  The Philly Mann was a notch below for me.

If I had to rank them I'd say

1. PC I
2. PC II
3. Merriweather
Can You Put Your Soft Helmet On My Head

Penny Lane

i will never eat thai in NOLA again...
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Dodobird

1. PC1
2. PC3
3. PC2

The only other show I saw was in Williamburg. Cool outdoor show but the PC Capital Theatre is an amazing venue. If I had been at Red Rocks I'm sure those be up there!

Anyone going to the Carnegie Hall show that JJ is performing at? I got tix the other day!
Wakin up feelin good and limber!

For me it would be hard to not say

PC 3
PC 1
PC 2

As the three night experience was better than any rock and roll experience I have ever had, but just to be more realistic, we'll limit this to just 1 PC show.....

1. Port Chester Night 3 (was there)
2.  MPP (was there)
3. Red Rocks Night 2 (wasn't there but have streamed about 10 times)

Great year for the band though, once the Spontaneous Curation series got rolling things really heated up!.

I wasn't at Port Chester , wasn't at Red Rocks , wasn't at the Wiltern
But I WAS at MPP , and just listened to this show.  I brought my uncle to this, his first MMJ show.  "Me and my uncle" used to do Dead shows together in the 80's (Saratoga, Buffalo, Portland, Worcester, Foxboro).  He was stunned by it all.

Cobra>Run Thru>Cobra!   :drum:

O>TWTHS>Hell!   :drum:

War Begun>IWSYS!     :drum:

And a great soundcheck, too!
(I Will Be There When You Die, Knot Comes Loose, Lowdown)

Definitely a top 3 show for me!
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Sheets Of Clay

I'd rank my 2012 shows like so:

1. Atlanta
2. Lincoln, Nebraska
3. Wiltern 2
4. Wiltern 1
5. Wiltern 3
6. Kansas City
7. St. Louis
8. Memphis

The atmosphere in Atlanta was nuts, by far the best of my 8 shows. It was weird to go from Atlanta to the absolutely horrible crowds at The Wiltern. Also, I know nobody was at the show in Lincoln (only 3 Roll Callers in the early entry line), but that show in the woods of Nebraska was off the charts.

That was a wonderful night, good times! The setlist originally looked like this:

At Dawn
The Dark
Holdin On To Black Metal
You Wanna Freak Out
Wonderful (The Way I Feel)
The Bear
Circuital
X-Mas Curtain
Lay Low
War Begun
I Will Sing You Songs
Anytime
Dancefloors
Steam Engine
Off the Record*
One Big Holiday

Encore:
Moving Away*
Strangulation!
It Beats 4 U
Highly Suspicious*
Phone Went West*
Victory Dance

But there was some trouble during Steam Engine, so they had to fix it and some songs had to be cut (I guess).

It's so hard to pick, but I think my top three would go:
1. Groningen
2. PC 1-2-3 (cheating a little here)
3. Utrecht/Copenhagen/Boston (and a little here)
Europe ♥ My Morning Jacket
