For those of you folks that are in Nashville and want to grab some food or hang out, send me a message! I live in Nashville and would love to meet some of the forum folks.

Those that are coming in from out of town, my opinion of three highly recommended places to eat are the following:

Mas Tacos - located in East Nashville
The Pharmacy - located in East Nashville (across the street from Mas Tacos)
Hattie B's Hot Chicken - located right off Broadway St. in Midtown

BigHerm

All very good. I will add Soulshine Pizza Factory... Just went to this place Friday, delicious. Also, Bolton's hot chicken is very good too and it's a couple blocks from The Basement.

I will! Are you gonna come into town Seth?
If I had a ticket I would come but Nashville is to far to travel from Birmingham just on chance, maybe I'll find something between now and then...I'll be at the Brown in Louisville and at the Cannery though

yakeroo

I didn't win the contest and now this Cannery fiasco, ugh I need to check my blood pressure.
I am definitely down for a meet up Friday! Lets get this rolling.

I feel very lucky to have won, and would never sell a ticket to this.  I'm taking my buddy Kelly from Forecastlle.  To me, it was about asking someone who loves and respects the band as much as I do, and knows how special it will be to see Jim on his first solo show.
The band always seems to try and do special things/shows/sound checks etc. for their fans, and I'm sure there will be more to come, especially since it's Jim..........

That being said, all the roll call members that I saw at Forecastle and especially the ones who got to see the "soundcheck" under to overpass, well, everyone was super cool and friendly.  I felt a little out of place at first because I'm probably older than alot of you but the common thread is music and My Morning Jacket.

You aren't the only older one who follows the band. I'm 45. I know several people older than me. Age doesn't matter. What matters is our shared love of this band. I wish I had met you at the Forecastle soundcheck.

That is part of why I love this band, going to concerts, being on the forum... There are so many kinds of people, all different ages, from different places, with an array of professions, abilities, personalities - and yet we are all bound by the music, by a love of the community that we have created out of the music.

Hey MamaKel,

Someone at work just told me the Wild Cow in East Nashville will have what you are looking for! http://www.thewildcow.com/twc/

Unfortunately I wasn't a winner in the contest, but I'd definitely love to hang out with y'all before or after the show!

BigHerm, do you know if the invisibility cloak in the link below works?

If so, the $400 bucks seems like a reasonable fee and there are probably several forum members that could hide under it.

I will be traveling alongside Yakeroo for the meet up. I'm not going to lie, I'm quite upset that I don't get to see the show. After Soundland cancels the festival in October ruining my chance to see the band and me not having the funding to travel to Port Chester or Boston, I was thinking surely I'd get to see the Jim solo show, but nope

Fully

The Stone Fox has lots of vegetarian fare, but it isn't close to the venue. Somewhere on 12S will probably have something. Burger Up  has some vegetarian stuff on the menu.  We could possibly meet at 12 South Taproom and Grill beforehand if we get there early enough. It's not too far from The Basement, maybe a few blocks. There isn't anything right at The Basement so some driving will be required. If anyone wants to pick another place, let me know. I'm game for anywhere. Truthfully, I'd like to grab a bite to eat before the show too.

Here's the website. They have a good beer selection.

Fully

I probably won't get there until six at the earliest.
