Last night Jim broke out the sax twice. The first time he definitely wasn't really playing it, but the second time he was.

Pretty sure the same thing happened  tonight. I may be wrong. I thought maybe his mic was off or was intentionally low but it seemed like the audio wasn't coming from the sax. The second time he grabbed it he played it for real.

Amazing show. So great. Two Tone was there. Questlove watched the whole show. Just fantastic.

I've got a few full videos ;)

One uploading now.....the rest tomorrow after work.

Fully

Ii'm loving all the gushing about the show!! It looks like he's loosened up even more than he was in Nashville. I felt like I was at the show getting so many videos in real time!! Jim's a bit of a different animal live, isn't he - although still our Jim! If anyone wants to send me video from tonight, I'll be glad to post it too. There's no way anyone needs to be uploading vids during the show. It takes away from the night enough just to send them to someone without all the tagging.

yep, tom came out an played the six-string last night.  no bass.  there was some SERIOUS flirting going on last night between Jim and Liz/Laura/Penny/Trish/Brooke.   Jim actually had his eyes wide open for most of the night and didn't stop moving around on an otherwise tiny stage.  Sound was excellent and the night was super fun.  Jim definitely made no noises on the sax the first time he took it out but he did play the 2nd time around.

His backing band was solid but no one from mmj is in danger of losing their jobs.  A really good, fun night.  I especially enjoyed the encore when he played mmj tunes but I thought several of the new songs played out exceptionally well live and better than on the album.

too tired today for a full write up.  good to see so many familiar faces.
was some shakin' and some record playin'

Where were you in the crowd?  I was a few people off the rail right in front of jim and close to the speaker and I clearly heard the sax.  Yes, it was low, but it was being played.

I can't speak for last night but the first time he picked up the sax in Philly it sure seemed to me the sound was sampled in. The second time he was definitely playing it. I was right above him when he got the sax handed to him both times, and nothing was coming out of it the first time that I could tell, yet I could hear sax through the amps. The  second time I could clearly hear it, and not just through the amps. The  difference in the  two times was noticeable. Especially when he was first handed it, and blew a few notes off to the side of the stage.
"Where's Jim going?"

It was not. I thought that too but got a better look and it was someone else.

Also i'm 99% sure that the photographer from BrooklynVegan was a dude who pushed his way through the crowd of us who were waiting since before doors opened. Someone stepped in and problems were avoided after heated words but it had to have been him...same spot and photos of people near him that were near me too. After the opening set he apologized and all was right in the world.

headhunter

yep, that was the dude.  at first he pushed his way front center and said I'm here b/c I'm a photographer.  I said so I guess you will be leaving after 1 or 2 songs.  He said, no I'm here for the night.  I said see this guy on your left, and this guy on your right, they are photographer's too and have been here at the rail for 2 hours as have I.  Told him he could stand behind us but not in front of us.  He was a bit of a dick at first but later apologized and moved back and sideways a bit and all was cool.  No harm but at first the blood pressure started to rise and he threatened me to move away.   Not a smart move on his part, especially when I was surrounded by many forum peeps and good folks standing on the rail who backed me up.  Plus Liz & Laura the Jersey Sisters were right there and you don't want to me messing with the East Coast Muscle.

Wait a second....you said all that to him? Are you telling me you're the other Long Island dude I was chatting with most of the night? I'm the guy from Islip who was there taking a few videos. How did I not realize this?

Mind blown.  I should have figured it out when you talked about you and your group attending hundreds of Jacket shows lol. I assumed I missed the MMJ board folks cuz they went to the bar meetup before.

Who else was there? I knew there were a few ladies and gents with you but didn't put the pieces together that they were all board members lol. Maybe I should have looked at past photos before the show to put names to faces.

It was nice to meet you, even without realizing who I was meeting. My name is Sean btw. Your efforts at stopping the "shove-through-everyone" crowd are unmatched and much appreciated.

headhunter

Ha, Yep that's me.  I'm the short guy from Long Island who was talking to you about the Paramount Theater and other Long Island places.  All of the girls I was hanging with (and a handfull of the guys) were forum members.  Penny Lane, TDBm YWNA, DylanD, Tired Eyes, Brooke, Fiddle Castro,Lil Sis,  etc.  Sorry, my bad, I should have brought up the forum.

I read your posts all the time but don't think we met before.  Fiddle and Dylan are also both from eastern long island.

Nice to meet you Sean, I'm Jeff.  Funny about the late recognition.  It was a great night.
