If everything goes according to plan, this will be me at about 11:30 PM on Tuesday night.

My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Fully

You have a lot to look forward to. So far, there are seven of us down here. We've been passing around the box wine all day to make the time go by faster. I'll probably be ready for Flake to come pick me up soon. I don't think I'm cut out for this.

Tuesday should be an awesome day, Roll Call Tix on sale that morning and then this show that night.  Now just hoping that the crowd is at least decent for this show since it is at 9:30.

So its not looking like there's going to be an early entry for Roll Call or at least they haven't sent anything out yet.  Just means more time out in the rain tomorrow night.

What time do doors open and what time does the show start?  The ticket and website only say 7.

Check 930.com later in the day.  They will update it with the times.

A general question for roll callers going to tonight's show - our tickets are at will call and we bring an ID and the credit card used, right?  Thanks!

Anxiously waiting to see if we get early admission tonight, seems late compared to other venues.

Roll Cal early entry info might still come.  Info for the New York show yesterday didn't come until about 12:45.

Yes.  Also not a bad idea to bring a printout of your order receipt.

Thanks you for the quick reply.  At my desk watching "State of the Art" from Sleep no more and getting chills.  Tonight will be grand!

Email about early entry for tonight just showed up, but the times given are wrong.  The email says doors at 6, early entry at 5:45, but the 9:30 club website has doors at 7, and they are never wrong about that, and doors there never open more than an hour before showtime.

So, how it should actually go is doors at 7, Roll Call early entry at 6:45.

Will be there!  May have an extra ticket... Also, anyone have good tips for parking?  Last time I was there I parked in the ghetto (oh shit, run).

Actually the info didn't end up being too wrong, just confusing, and obviously shared way too late.

The 9:30 club has a downstairs bar area and on show nights they will open that bar one hour before the doors of the venue open and let the first 30 people in line hang out in that bar for that hour until the doors open and then those people get let in first.

What they did last night was open the bar area at 6 (venue doors at 7) but opened it up only to roll call people.  So at 6 they pulled the Roll Call people out of the line and let us down into the bar.  Because the bar was only Roll Call people, even people that got there after 6 could still get into the bar because it didn't fill to capacity.

It was actually a great setup and the early entry worked very smoothly.  The 9:30 club is usually good at pulling stuff like that off, probably the most competent venue I've ever had the pleasure of attending.  They never screw anything up.

Amazing, incredible show!

Having already seen Jim's show once (at McKittrick Hotel), I had high expectations, but as usual with Jim/MMJ even those high expectations were completely blown out of the water.

Got to share the rail with my dear Flake, Mr. and Mrs. Manonthemoon, and APR, which made it a great night as well.

The big surprise of the night was the "acoustic" segment of the encores was three songs:  a Willie Nelson cover (anyone know the name?), Wonderful and HOPEFULLY  :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:.

I think Jim was inspired to do Hopefully by someone who was holding up a sign for it for the whole main set.  We were kind of laughing at this person's persistence and dedication (they literally never put the sign down), but I guess it was rewarded.

It was great to see how much the band had gelled and the performances of the ROLSOG songs have continued to expand into epic wonderfulness, particularly the ending of Dear One, and the jams on All is Forgiven and God's Love to Deliver.

I'm also so, so happy with what the encore segment has become as opposed to the first few shows where it was MMJ songs.  It was great to hear the MOF stuff again, particularly His Master's Voice.  What an incredible new reading/interpretation of that song with this band instead of performed solo.  Losin' Yo Head lived up to it's title with a great jam at the end.  In the middle of the song, Jim broke one of his guitar strings (the high E string) but didn't miss a beat and still played a crazy jam.  I also loved the harder, jammed out treatment of Changing World as compared to how it was performed with New Multitudes.

If I had the option to do it all again tonight, I would do so in a heartbeat, and the night after that, and the night after that...
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

So I'll see you in Nashville Thursday night, Whippy? I've got an extra ticket ;)
