Silly question, but for those who found the hidden LP, was it free?

It 'twas!...they even offered free pizza and beer, which in ANY other circumstance I would have consumed the hell out of JUST that promotion (in sadness if I had not found it). No type of beer, pizza, or drug could have conquered that "Willy Wonka" high I was ridin'.

Is there anything extra that comes with these records that we don't have with the regular release? Like exclusive downloads or anything? Hint, hint

Yes. But...I'm SO not wanting to open it! I may cave in eventually.

There is a code inside which provides downloads of 2 alternate versions of 'A New Life'

Murph

Yessirrr, I found the autographed LP at Looney Tunes Music on Long Island.  After about an hour of searching and not finding anything I gave up.  Right as I was walking out to leave, I figured I would check under a couple piles of hoodies that were by the front door and sure enough there it was, in all its glory.

Jealous. It sucks because I accepted that I wouldn't be able to get it after announced. I was fine with it but then kept looking into it. Throughout the day yesterday when I saw it was still unclaimed I kept getting more and more excited haha. Should have gone on my lunch break. Damn.

Good stuff. Congrats

Yowza! Did there happen to be a newspaper machine nearby? "Behind the Times"! This has been nagging at me.

Pretty sure there is no code inside of the sleeve. The code with the 2 alternate versions is on the back of the lithograph.

e_wind

I have a lithograph that came with the supreme package, I noticed not code
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Fully

Well, who has the codes? Somebody does. They emailed or something about it.

Waddy Peytona

I got a bonus-track lithograph by virtue of buying my vinyl in an indie record store. There is a stamp on the back with a web address for the bonus downloads. The print number is the code.

I still dont understand "behind the times".  The second clue was "SPIN" and the table of hoodies also had something called Spin Cleaner displayed on it....

RastaRunner5

I got the signed copy from Other Music in NYC.

After reading the interview where Jim says "Slow, Slow Tune" is written for a kid in the future flipping through vinyl at a Salvation Army and stumbling upon an MMJ album and not sure what it is, I have to think he was the brainchild behind this scavenger hunt. I had so much fun doing it!

Hey Waddy! Did you download it and if so, what did you think?

Angelo

The stamp is a Record Store Day stamp so I would imagine you could only get it by buying it from a participating record store. Kinda sucks considering how much that deluxe package was. If you want them, let me know.

Hey Waddy! Did you download it and if so, what did you think?

It's two versions of "A New Life." The demo is a stripped-down acoustic rendition. I could actually imagine seeing Jim perform it this way at some point, a la "Bermuda Highway" or "Hopefully." The other is a "Chris Funk remix." Very deconstructed. I'm interested in processes, including the songwriting process, so both are intriguing to me. My personal tastes lean toward the demo, but I'm glad to have both.

Fully

Thanks, Waddy. They sound interesting.

If you got the litho in the deluxe vinyl order from ground(ctrl), go to this site:

www.recordstoreday.com/jimjames

Enter the edition number for the two tracks. For example, my copy was 186/500, so I entered 186.
