wow!  my 'roo days are definitely behind me, but this will be stellar.

HIGH on SOUND

Ever since seeing MMJ break out the soul, funk, and r&b covers at their '08 late night set I have said Jim needs to host a soul/funk/r&b superjam at Bonnaroo. IT IS HAPPENING!!! HOLY F!! YESSSS!!!

Crispy

Could this be the impetus that gets me to buy an Airstream to pull with the pickup I don't own yet and finally make it to Bonnaroo? Could be, could be.
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"

When I heard them announce this I almost had to get up from my desk and do a happy dance.

The lineup is great overall.

The only thing I'm confused about is the Ed Helms super jam?

Also (being greedy) I hope both of his sets are at night.

he plays bluegrass banjo. I'm pretty stoked that they are doing this. I hope it isn't in the earliest part of the heat.

The Superjam will be late night. I hope his set is at least while the sun is setting.

I actually HAD to get up from my desk at work. I literally went BEET RED with happiness when I saw the lineup, and I was so flushed that someone asked if I had poison ivy. I went to go splash water on my face and it didn't work so I just went outside and walked around for 20 minutes.

The things music does to me!

Having been to the last 7, I was going to skip this year...

Nothing will keep me away from the farm after this announcement. Holy crap! Let's hope for late night as well. They always used to be late night, but last year it was in the afternoon.

What a great lineup as well. Paul McCartney is the only headliner I care much about, but Wilco, David Byrne, Trombone Shorty, Father John Misty and a bunch of other sets will keep me really happy.

The Soul SuperJam will feature Jim James with John Oates, Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and other surprise guests while the Ed Helms Bluegrass Situation Superjam with weave in a variety of string players. Jim James has performed at Bonnaroo seven times in the past decade while Modeliste appeared at the festival in 2011 as part of The Original Meters' reunion. Preservation Hall Jazz Band have appeared at Bonnaroo numerous times in a variety of capacities: They've hosted their own weekend-long stage, performed with Del McCoury, recorded Bonnaroo's 10th anniversary theme song, hosted a film screening, sat in with My Morning Jacket on the massive What Stage and participated in a New Orleans-themed SuperJam featuring Dr. John and members of The Black Keys. This will be Oates' first Bonnaroo appearance. (His longtime partner Daryl Hall played the festival in 2008 with Chromeo.)

"There is another SuperJam or two already in the works," Capps hints. "The SuperJam is one of the special, iconic features of Bonnaroo—in some cases the ideas of the SuperJam take a while to come together and gel with the right plays. Having a SuperJam with Jim James is something that has been discussed for two or three years now and it is really exciting to see it come together."
Don't you ever turn it off

Someone school this fool. What's the big deal with Superjam?  Never been to Bonnaroo; probably won't anytime soon.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.
