Have to wait till the broadcast as I am away for a couple of days... Damn!

Sometimes ACL will make additional songs available only on the Internet. Maybe the ones they edit out will be put up online.

I loved the performance and it was such a treat to be able to watch the stream last night.

These shows are so fantastic, and like Fully said I'm not tired of them at all yet.

The only complaint I have about them, and it is a minor one, is the use of instrumental backing tracks.

I know it is a neat and different thing than we are used to with MMJ to have Jim not playing an instrument for most of the show and thus more free to just be a badass frontman, but it just feels odd to have backing tracks for guitar parts.  The ones that stuck out to me are the acoustic guitar part in God's Love to Deliver and also one of the electric guitar parts in Of the Mother Again.  Seems like if Jim wants to be free and not have to play these other guitar parts, I bet someone on his crew plays guitar enough to step in and provide them or something.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

One of the posts above ... with the space they need for the cameras, the crowd can't possibly be allowed any closer to the stage.

Turned up about 7.45pm (no ticket), waited for about 5-10 minutes and then straight in.  There was plenty of space in the balcony, at least 300-400 spare seats up there, if not more.  Was a great show, my favourites were the ones with the longer jams to end them (e.g. Changing Worlds).  Looking forward to tonight and some even longer jams.

I'd have to agree with the post above on the backing tracks, I noticed it too with the start of God's Love to Deliver, and thought it was odd considering it would be such an easy part to strum.

It was totally awesome!  I am not sure why I haven't watched any youtube vids of Jim's solo tour, when I am constantly trawling for them when MMJ is on tour, but I haven't.  So it was all really new to me, even though I knew what to generally expect.  It was such a treat to see the encores since I didn't know if he'd be playing them.  Question - is the V always on that stand?  I was not really a fan of that.  Other than that it was an awesome preview to the awesomeness that I am sure I will be seeing on Sunday night.
anything + reverb always = better

Gracias, Sr. White!  I was still sulking that I missed it.
Give me a butt load of reverb on this one - just pile it on.

Hi everyone. Haven't been here in a while, but I was able to photograph the first three songs of Jim's ACL taping. Click the photo to see my gallery. I took close to 700 photos and was able to "narrow it down" to about 60.  :)

That's a beautiful photo! Thanks for coming back and sharing with us!

Is Jim really faking the Sax playing?  I don't want to believe it

I'd bet he is. I can't see a microphone on it.

He for sure is during the Know Till Now sax portion. Though on Gods Love to deliver he plays it and after both the ACL and Stubbs show I just saw, I'd say he plays it very well. He jammed out on Gods Love to Deliver during the Stubbs show way more than ACL though. It was awesome.

Jim and Carl should have a Sax battle some day.
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.

He's definitely playing the sax. The man is a well of hidden talents.

He plays it everywhere except on Know Til Now although he does finger the keys. There's lots of fingering on this tour....

Hahaha....the ET phone home! Has this been going on at all the shows?

Mingus Rude

Lots of ET finger touch in Asheville.

He held out the golden panda for people to touch at the end of the show and ignited a mad bum rush !
