Interesting...

Can't see Dylan opening for anyone, but can you really imagine having to sit through Dylan after MMJ? It'd be like chugging some OJ after brushing your teeth with some really awesome toothpaste.

other than for the Grateful Dead you mean. :)

This is tremendous news though! Thanks for coming in today.

How can MMJ open for Dylan?  I'd much rather see a 3 hour set with MMJ versus a 45min-1hr set with MMJ and then Dylan.  Dylan is great, but he is past his prime, and I do not understand why they're opening when they don't have to.  If the Wilco thing is true, same goes for them.  Unless the concert starts at 2pm and each band plays for 3 hours!  Either way, I still want to see these 3 bands, so I'll stop ranting.

Still holding out for a solo MMJ show in Louisville this year.

MMJ may be the greatest live band out there, but Dylan is an institution and a legend. The set's probably going to be shorter, the tickets more $ and the crowds less MMJ centric but it's an honor for them and it'll be a chance for more people to hear them----

And my friend saw Dylan last week and it was the best he's ever seen him ..so you never know.

Thank you, Penny, for that response.  Dylan is practically an entire genre of American music all by himself, past his prime and completely incomprehensible or not.  I would never expect a non-Dylan fanatic to enjoy a Dylan concert these days, and it will be hard to see a shorter MMJ opening slot show, but the headlining slot goes to the artist with the most historical status.  Dylan's been doing it for 50 YEARS!

Would be an awesome tour if Wilco were the 3rd band.

I would suspect this will be an amphitheater tour only.

My guess would be a 10 show northeast tour:

Camden
Saratoga
Merriweather
Hartford
Great Woods
Jones Beach
Bethel
Ohio

I'd take it, but I'm thinking this will be more like a minor league baseball park tour.

coney island, brooklyn .... saw wilco and phish play there @ the ballpark.

i wonder if this will start between jim's last regular show and newport or after newport, which would be almost august.

headhunter

I would expect this to start mid to late august and minor league baseball parks will mostly be the venues.

mmj >> wilco >> bob

Bob doesn't open for anyone.

was some shakin' and some record playin'

I couldnt see Wilco opening for MMJ either.  Not that they shouldnt, but what about this supposed Tweedy/MMJ beef??  Either way, what an amazing possibility for a tour.

HAHA! Glad to see this rumor still has legs.

Would love for this to happen (Wilco, Bob, and MMJ), but I just don't see it.  I also don't see Wilco opening for MMJ.  In terms of draw, it goes Wilco--Bob--MMJ, most to least.  This is certainly true in the Midwest.  Bob doesn't draw like he used to because of his uneven performances.

Cameron

Wilco and MMJ seem to play the same venues. Down here at least.

yeah it's awfully close... Wilco tend to do multiple night theater runs here more than MMJ, but it usually ends up being about the same number of tickets sold.

Wilco could definitely outdraw My Morning Jacket here in Minneapolis, but in most markets it's probably neck and neck.

timescaper

Not a rumor it's MMJ Wilco and Dylan its confirmed for at least one amphitheater!!!

oistheone

Amphitheater?! Sweet!

C'monnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Toronto date!
