Could they not have came up with a better name for this festival/tour?

What does it matter what they call it? I'm not going for the awesome name. I'm just going to hear the music.

It's a stupid and uncreative name. Seven syllables is a lot to say in one breath each time you reference the festival. I only care about seeing MMJ (assuming its not a basic setlist), don't care much for Wilco and from what I hear, Bob Dylan shows aren't the best anymore.

I'm with Fully on this. I couldn't care less what they call it. I've just told people I'm going to see MMJ, with Wilco, and Dylan on the bill. Either that or just said seeing MMJ this summer.

^^This!
C'mon Magheeeetahhhhh34!? Where's your spirit? This is gonna be great! Don't poop on stuff. The name is fun once you get the hang of it. After practice of course.

It's not like the name is gonna keep me from attending, I just wondered why they didn't come up with something more creative to represent the greatest band on earth.

They probably had nothing to do with it. Seems to me they're just along for the ride, and not their tour.

The name seems like it came from the Dylan side of things if I had to guess.
I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

I was looking at the tour dates for the show in Nashville on June 30th on Bob Dylans website. I noticed the first four dates listed Bob Dylan playing along with MMJ, Wilco, and Bob Weir. Anybody else heard anything about Bob Weir being an opener as well?

MMPJ6306

Damn. Bob Weir opening! That's so awesome, even if he has been slipping on some of the words to his own songs recently...
6/3/06, 10/22/10, 6/7/11 12/14, 7/28/12 8/17 12/27 12/28, 7/26/13 10/12, 7/31/15 11/27, 4/29/16

Fully

I haven't heard anything about that. It will be interesting to see if that pans out.

If you don't like Wilco or want to see Dylan, these are some high priced tickets for you to get to see the band. Wilco is a great band and Dylan, while not consistent, is still one of the greatest songwriters of all time and a living legend. I wouldn't go into this thinking you are definitely going to get the setlist of your dreams at this. Who knows what we'll get. For me any Jacket show is a great thing particularly in a year where we weren't expecting any shows. If you want to be assured of seeing a rarities filled set, you are going to have to go to one of the multi night shows where they announce they won't play any repeats. It would be awesome if they would do a run like that in the south, but that just hasn't happened in a while. You've got to travel out of the southeast to do it. It gets expensive, but it's been worth it. And there are ways to do it that make it cheaper. One if our traveling companions took megabus all the way from Memphis to New York for Port Chester. I'm not sure I'm that dedicated, but if it was the only way I could go...who knows.

Bob Weir! Can not wait for this. Possibly my top four musicians in one show? Holy smokes please let Jim, Jeff, Bob, and Bob play a song together!

Ended up getting a single ticket for A1 1st row. Bummed not to get Pit but I'm not gonna complain about 1st row!

I had 2 pretty good seats in Irvine lined up, dead center, second tier, put in my CC#, then decided not to. Too long a drive for me to see a likely "routine" (if there is such a thing) MMJ set, and Wilco who I saw last year. Dylan would be cool for historical purposes, but I saw 3 great MMJ shows with no repeats for the same price as this show, and I did not have to sit in a stadium chair for 6 or 8 hours. My butt hurts just thinking about it. I guess I have to settle for Jim James in May and Patterson Hood in June.

wonder if anyone in the Dylan camp has listened to either band-- i wouldn't classify Wilco or MMJ as Americana (at least since they're first few albums) -- in any case, it's still awesome
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Just saw that none other than Bob Weir is playing four dates!!!!   He'll be doing an acoustic set and based on his recent tour it will primarily be songs from the dead (QOTSA ref intended)

Here are the dates Bob Weir will be on:

June 26th @ Cruzan Amphitheatre – West Palm Beach, FL
June 27th @ Live Nation Amphitheatre – Tampa, FL
June 29th @ Aaron’s Amphitheatre – Atlanta, GA
June 30th @ The Lawn at Riverfront Park – Nashville, TN.

This may be the best one day fest I've ever attended.  Seen MMJ and Wilco many time each.  Caught Bob Dylan twice and have seen Furthur 3 times and the Grateful Dead once.

Most excellent show.

PS.  I think the AmericanaramA moniker is appropriate.  Its even fun to say!  Wilco and MMJ represent the best of american rock music right now and Bob Dylan and Bob Weir were there from the beginning.

SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! (plus I got Atlanta pit tix too, thanks RC)

Don't forget to capitalize that last A!  I don't know why but it's bothering me a little that Stereogum called this tour "Dad Rock".

I saw "Uncle Rock" somewhere too, that's a new one. I don't get it either, Jacket is nowhere near "Dad Rock" (whatever that is anyway). I see that label get placed on Wilco a lot though, seemed to start with the release of SBS. Whatever, I'm not a dad and I fucking love Wilco.

Some AV Club commenter said all the fans would have beards made of flannel. I thought that was pretty good. You can't follow a musical artist religiously and not have a sense of humor about it.

MMJ has opened for him before. He knows what he's getting. Two bands that will sell tickets at larger venues than he can at this point.
