Anyone on here was with, friends or is the guy that hit his head pretty hard after a missed que jump, on night 2 i think it was ? I was the guy on scene who grabbed the medic fast as i could as his friends were in as much shock as he was. Sure like to hear he's ok. Im sure his OBH took a shit after that moment, it was quite a thud and im certain he suffered some degree of concussion. I clearly noticed the security the next night was more diligent with what they allowed people to get away with.  Be safe people, or your expensive holiday will quickly become a wasted opportunity.

My wife and i both had an amazing time and cant wait for the download. Yes even the same covers ive seen/heard for years i immensely enjoyed and care not like so many of you seem to be twisted up about. Having worked/followed my passion in the music industry I describe forums like this as such: Opinion's & Aholes, everyones got one.

This goes for any show, but if you weren't there then how on earth could you voice an opinion aside from disclaiming that "I wasn't there BUT...."

It makes no sense. I've seen plenty of sets over the years of different bands and thought to myself... This looks like one of the best sets ever, and people there say it was sloppy, not a great vibe, whatever the case may be.

I still stick to it that the week was the best overall experience I've ever had and that night 3 is the best concert I've ever seen. By miles. The best set? Not even close... But everything accounted for, it's #1 on my list.

I'm just sitting here thinking about it, and I'm pretty shocked that in 3 shows with no repeats I didn't see one MMJ song that I hadn't before seen live. I didn't go to T5, and 2011 Circuital tour accounts for a lot of my 40-ish shows, so there are still quite a few studio full-length record songs I haven't seen.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

{seizing an opportunity to talk setlist stats}... I saw 8 new (to me) songs - 7 were covers, plus Picture of You.

Picture of You was one of 4 I hadn't seen:  now down to 3:  Remnants, If All Else Fails, By My Car

I wanna go next year but I cant drink weak beer and I dont know how to pace myself with mixed drinks.

I can understand the beer thing. We actually found a craft beer bar in Playa Del Carmen called "Club De La Cerveza". We drank some mighty tasty IPA's, Alts, Hefeweizens and Stouts that were brewed in Mexico. The owner of the bar told us that there has been a pretty fast growing craft beer movement in Mexico over the past two years. There is also a store not far from there that sells plenty of craft beer to go.

Hey I also  forgot to mention this earlier. Did anyone hear the official number of attendees for the week?! We spoke to someone at Cloud 9 on that Monday and got some interesting info. I suggested that by the crowd the night before and seeing people at the resort during the day that there weren't nearly as many people as we expected. He told us that just about 800 'Tickets' were sold before the trip! It didn't dawn on me until after we go home that that number is confusing to me! At times it seemed like maybe there were only 800 people there, but it could have been more?? So then I wondered if he meant 800 rooms? But I'm not even sure there were that many rooms being used?? There were an awful lot of unused rooms wherever we were. ??? Besides, if it were 800 rooms, there would definitely be a lot more people around since most rooms had more than 1 person!

Anyone hear anything official?

Well.....We checked in a day early on Saturday, and the person checking us in said that 100 rooms had checked in the day before, 200 rooms the day I checked in, and 500 more rooms being checked in on Sunday. So......at a minimum of 2 per room.....there should have at least been 1600 people. At least that's how I understood it.

But don't you not really care if you see Remnants? I know I'd love to get a Remnants, but I didn't think you really were too keen on it.

In the minority here, but I love Remnants.  I was at the last two T5 shows.  Other than Picture of You and covers, not another new song for me during OBH.  I was hoping for Rolling Back or Just One Thing because those songs are favorites that I have never seen live before.  I'm not one that has a check list of songs I'm hoping for every night, and OBH did not disappoint.  That kind of leads to a question I had....

Would you prefer see MMJ again for back to back nights ASAP or wait a bit until after the new album comes out?  In the second scenario you're guaranteed a variety of new songs.  Or do you like the old songs so much that adding the new songs in the mix would eliminate some old favorites from the set?

You're not in the minority, I and a lot of other peeps love Remnants.

As to your questions, I just want to see Jacket ASAP. Whether its all the new album, mix or all my white whales. I don't care. Set list night to night is not what I am there for. It's the intensity at which they play these songs that brings me back every time.

Disagree. It's a forum/message board and people are entitled to their opinions. It's not always going to be roses, and perfume around here

Clearly, somebody must have forgotten to give me MY perfume and roses!!!

Haha.   How'd that happen?  How about bourbon, and mint iced tea instead?  That I can make sure you get at the next show we rock.

Cheers Eric.  Hope to see you this year; like 6 or 7 times!!!  Meet up in the Bourbon Tent!

Agree with some of covers (except for the ones they have really owned and made their own) feeling a bit stale at this point.

Also, while we are on the subject of the setlists, I really hope they stop this "end of Run Thru" thing.  To me it largely kills the momentum of the song to just right into the middle of it.  I don't understand that one at all.

Yes, yes, a million times yes.

As a long time Pearl Jam Ten Club member, I've seen this whole setlist debate going on for ages.  The presence of rare songs doesn't necessarily equate to an amazing performance in total.  It's nice to say you saw something off-the-wall, but how it fits into the flow of the set is way more important.  You can't get that off a piece of paper or computer screen.

To me, critiquing a show you didn't attend based on the setlist is like critiquing a meal based on a list of ingredients.  You're free to do it, but why in the world would I consider a word of it?

I think we did a pretty good job with Sunday night's craft beer party! :)

Where to begin?  All this arguing is so circuital.  I had the most wonderful time at One Big Holiday and anyone's well thought out opinion about should not detract from my experience.  Sure they ran thru some played out covers but they still had the dancefloor bumping.  Off the record, I was bummed we didn't get a Quick One.  Dontgetupset is clearly a hardcore fan and shouldn't have to lay low just because he couldn't have POSSIBLY gotten the complete lowdown on the vibe there.  He admitted as much that how could he know the way he sang so let's chill and don't get all how do you know on him.  Reading this thread made me feel like I was going to hell. I'm sure he is a wonderful man and we should roll back the vitriol eh?

Was there any better feeling than leaving on a jet plane to Mexico? After all, we are all just one in the same and all constructive opinions are welcome anytime.  I wish you all the best.  Like a bear sauntering into the woods to deposit some remnants, I just needed to get that out of my system.

Do you realize that was the cheeziest shit ever written on this forum?

COME ON!  COME ON!  GET UP!  COME ON!
