OUTTA MY SYSTEM
ANYTIME
I'M AMAZED
LAY LOW
SLOW TUNE
WONDERFUL
ALL THE BEST (w/John Prine)
VICTORY DANCE
CIRCUITAL
WORDLESS CHORUS
OFF THE RECORD
PHONE WENT WEST

I see nothing here to complain about.  A fairly balanced set for only a dozen songs.  An unscheduled guest that happens to be John Prine!  Anytime, Slow, Phone, Lay Low all kick ass.  Spoiled is right, Seth.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

And I'm not going to any AmericanaramA shows, so I find it hard to get worked up about setlists like these.  This tour is beyond anyone's expectations and tonight's set is great.  I understand, after my three in a row in April 2010 (almost the exact same setlist for 3 consecutive shows), but still they were amazing shows.  Can't wait to see what's next, though I'm predicting The Bear and Easy Morning Rebel tomorrow night.

Thanks for the updates. Too much circuital for such a small set

I'm with you even though I'm not at this show. They played 50% of the album at the Nashville show. I'd be enraged if it weren't for "War Begun" and "Masterplan" saving the day. WHY are they still promoting that album when it's over 2 years old?? I'd really like to see them tour where no song is expected (Victory Dance, One Big Holiday, Wordless, Im Amazed). Dig into Tennessee Fire to Ch.1 to Sweatbees etc. That would make it truly amazing!  I assume the problem would be with rehearsing such a vast catalog?

No they're trying to grab mass appeal, and circuital for whatever reason is the bands most popular album amongst people who barely know them. At least that's what I assume. But you think they could play more lowdown TWTHS and so forth, which are easily digestible songs for the less hardcore and still awesome for the diehard fans.

I definitely agree though with too much circuital. At least they are playing the better half of that album though.
I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

Enraged? Dude, you got to hear two -TWO of your white whales at a short set which included two Dead songs played with a member of the Dead. You complain after every single show that you've gone to that something isn't to your satisfaction. They aren't coming to town to just play for you, dude. They are coming to promote themselves and make some money too. That doesn't happen if they don't play any of the songs the casual fan knows. You have to travel to event shows like Port Chester, The Wiltern, Red Rocks, One Big Holiday if you want sets for hardcore fans. Show the band some gratitude occasionally after you've watched them give you their all. This gets old. And if any of you doubt me, go back and look at 34's posts after the what -six shows he's gone to. He does this every time

Yeah, not really feeling these setlist complaints. A few months ago, I'd be thrilled to hear MMJ was even TOURING this summer! All these shows are bonus as far as I'm concerned. And the fact that we're getting some deep cuts and sit-ins mixed in for flavor -- SUPER bonus! This tour has actually reignited my Jacket fever and I haven't had a bout with this in a while! Therefore, no complaints from me whatsoever.

I understand greedy, unravelled. This tour has got me excited in a way I really wasn't expecting. At best I was hoping to get to hear my favorite band play short sets. The two shows I've seen though have put a burning desire for more in my heart. I can't name what is is specifically that makes me love these guys so much, although opening with The Dark for Scosbokonos was one of those moments that makes me get even more giddy about them. But really, the live shows....man, they could play Jimmy Crack Corn and make me beg for more. Watching Jim on War Began Sunday night was one of those moments. And they did play Comfortably Numb at sound check. Fingers are crossed, legs are crossed, and pants will be peed if we get it tomorrow night.

Without reading the last couple.... I think we should be STOKED that were getting these sets. This is a tour for the masses, not the diehards.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

He isn't super upset; your response is a little harsh. He didn't necessarily say he was enraged, just that he would be if he hadn't gotten those two white whales.

I feel like its impossible to post an opinion on here anymore without some unnecessary forum hate. I just don't understand the need to freak out that much.

If people could just disagree and not hate, that'd be fantastic.

I for one never said it was a bad set, far from it. I only wondered why they played so many songs from one album on such a short set.

I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

Thank you EverythingChanges. Enraged was a bad word. Not what i meant. More like let down. Of course, i don't expect to hear Evelyn into By My Car into Strangulation, but what I'm saying is that out of my 7 shows, about 92% of the songs are the same each time. Maybe my expectations are a little high. As i go to more shows, I'll figure out more of what to expect. It was hypothesized that this tour was gonna be more towards the hardcore fans so i was anticipating more of Evil Urges and At Dawn that they usually don't play. I loved the show on Sunday. They band was rocking pretty hard even to the Circuital stuff. I was just expecting the promotion of that album to be done and the songs to constantly rotate again. That is all. No need for the hate  :undecided:

So apparently Dylan's fired his lead guitarist Duke Robillard and Charlie Sexton is back playing with him now.

A friend just texted that to me. Interesting. I've followed Sexton for a long time during his Beats So Lonely period, but haven't really kept up with him as much lately.

34, I think if you would explain it the way you just did instead of seeing so much negative after each show it would make more sense why you follow the band and were so excited to get your picture made with Jim. No harm done. I just get very passionate about this band and supporting them.

Cameron

I've seen wilco probably ten times and seeing them right after Mmj just shows how great the jacket is live. So much more energy, imo.
