It seems like every night when the final report comes in I say to myself "Ok tonight had the best set of the tour. Nothing's going to beat it." Except, once the following nights done, I say the exact same thing. Killer tour to say the least.

it's even more painful when you are going to the show the next night, because you know you aren't getting that setlist!

This is gonna make your knees shake...

at dawn, wonderful, outta my system, lowdown, lay low, war begun, just one thing, Heartbreaking, victory dance, day is coming, phone went west, off the record. Absolutely fucking incredible set

Holy bananas! And judging from some pics I saw on twitter, there was a sparse crowd in the pit.
Don't you ever turn it off

I am numb looking at that set list....."Just One Thing" are you kidding me! "Lay Low" into "War Begun". Unreal!

CHIMMJFAN

WHAT!!!!!1  I feel like I just got hit with a mean right hook after reading this! Holy crap, did my knees ever buckle after reading this set list. Seconded about the awesomeness of "Just One Thing" being played during a set.
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.

War Begin to Lay Low is guitar heaven.  I've been rocking that combo from the 8/27/2008 Fox Theater set consistently for a couple of weeks now.  Next Wednesday can't come soon enough.
Don't you ever turn it off

Holy mackerel that is insane.  After 20 shows I have yet to hear Just One Thing, which is one of my favorites.

True not getting this same setlist in the future but that doesn't mean they won't be able to top it or equal it.  My expectations are up for MPP..... how long until Tuesday?

Wow, the Wilco set looks equally impressive. Guessing there was no Dylan collab, but I'd LOVE to see this Wilco+MMJ's stab at "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding". "Hate it Here" is one of my favorites, and "I'm A Wheel" should close every Wilco show, goddamn I love that song.

FUCK! Knew I shoulda hit two shows.

LeanneP

It was definitely an amazing show.  It was a personally significant one for me, what with the kids with me and dancing with my DCD diagnosed son who has never danced before. What a night!

It wasn't necessarily that sparsely populated - only about 5 thousand total for this show anyway.  But, you know what? I could give a shit who wasn't there in time to see the boys.  As long as the real fans do see them, I'd rather the peeps not interested stayed out in the parking lot or the concession area and didn't sit on their asses talking loudly and blowing cigarette smoke all over the park.  (Lesson learned: Americans still allow cigarettes in public facilities - so gross!  Thanks for ashing on my kid douche canoe!)

Also, those set times were wrong.  I decided to go to the bathroom at 6:05 thinking there would be plenty of time to pee and get back and the opening music started playing as I was coming out of the stall. No time to dry those hands! I sprinted back to the lawn as the opening notes of At Dawn crept into my ears!

@oistheone, they played Passenger Side, too!  Ah, memories!

Plus: MMJ played Law Low and Wilco played Impossible Germany, both songs with "dueling guitar solos" or doubled and harmonized guitar solos, something that gives me a wet spot every damned time!  Haha!
Babe, let's get one thing clear, there's much more stardust when you're near.

oistheone

That's awesome Leanne, between last night and you got quite the double-bill (of quadruple-billed shows)!

And no, there is NOTHING better than harmonized guitar solos. I can't think of any two bands that do it better right now than MMJ and Wilco.

hacksaw

Hacksaw enjoyed this show. Shout how to the dude in his mid 30's in the green MMJ hat rocking the fuck out to my right with all the other MMJ hippies. Dude was real into it. Who that dude? What up dude.

Huge MMJ fan, but I don't get to see them all that much. Only my second time. Kinda wish they played Magheeta, OBH, or Dondante...you know some of the more rock MMJ songs, but overall it was a really great setlist. Very chill. Can't wait to see them again.
