I want to hit the like button! That was the best! The jam, the shoe stomping, the jam, Carrrrrrrrrrrrrrl!

"Only" been to 7 MMJ shows, and have seen this song twice. Plus I think he sang it in his solo show in Hollywood. Would be surprised if they don't play it at OBH.

I've seen it 4 or 5 times at MMJ shows out of 35ish. So I wouldn't call it a lock.

I wouldn't either-although with 4 freaking shows it's a pretty good possibility. That was probably my favorite time I've seen them play it. Something about the jam and those white shoes getting stomped on just made it even better. I went back and watched this video a couple of times today, and it just brought it all back. I so wish that We were going back to Port Chester this holiday, but I'll just have to hope it happens again someday. It was the best week of my MMJ travels. The best people were there and the shows could not have been better.

I made a request to Carl through Facebook for Carried Away for the Americanarama show at Merriweather, and they played it!  Only time the whole tour, I believe, which makes me think he got my request.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Just another reason why this band is awesome!

Wow, that really made my live MMJ itch get much much worse.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Nice! I don't think I have ever seen this song in my seven shows. That "Wall of Sound" jam during the end reminds me very much of a Neil & Crazy Horse ending jam, and looked like one of their huddles. Perhaps an influence?

We are going to be in Florida during January and I came thisclose to talking My Wife into a OBH excursion.  Sounds like an unforgettable experience.

I would be SHOCKED if Jim did not let Carl do this in a 3 show no repeat. I really can't imagine it, yet, they did not play The Bear or Bermuda Highway at the Wiltern, so what the fuck do I know?

we'll all be better people because of it.

My Morning Jacket - Carried Away - Port Chester, NY - 12/28/12

There's nothing better than that! Except for... well you get the jist

We we're front row dead center in the Balcony for that Portchester MAGIC.

Carl Is the shit, but he also seems shy sometimes, and seemed ready to hand the Guitar solo back to Jim. That's where the foot stomping comes in, saying "this is your's, brother, TAKE IT!." Possibly my favorite moment of the Portchester run.
GO CARL!!!!!!

It's a beautiful song , off a beautiful album, and I've said it before, I'm SO Happy that MMJ has integrated it into their sets. It's always a special moment for me.

And I agree with E_Wind. I've seen them do it 4-5 times with MMJ and once solo,
But there was something special about that version.
Etherial is the closest I can come to describing it, and I've got every finger, toe, etc...crossed to see it with sand between my toes and my face melting off at OBH.

GO TEAM CARL!!!
Them that don't know him won't like him and them that do, sometimes won't know how to take him

Well said tippi!!!

I too felt the jam during Carried Away was my favorite moment of the Port Chester run as well.  By far the best version of that song I've seen played live of the 4-5 times I've seen them play it.

Geez, I didn't know you guys were over here showing my video some love.  My favorite of PC also and why it's the feature on my YouTube channel.  I've been fortunate to hear Carried Away several times live.  It's always a treat but this was different, with Carl staying on guitar the whole time instead of shifting to pedal steel.

So, just a few days ago, I get a Google alert about an MMJ video and damn if it isn't this video showing up on someone else's channel.  At least it has a courtesy call-out to me, but really?  So then I listen to it and I realize he patched in the soundboard recording which significantly upgraded the sound but you miss the first minute or so of that #1 excited fan going nuts :cheesy:

I contacted the guy and he apologized for not giving me a heads up (he said he hadn't intended it to be public) but I said it was OK as long as he acknowledged my video/channel.  I told him he did a nice job with the sound and that he should keep it up and public for the fans.

I hate to re-direct away from my original video but give this version a try as well......

I've seen Carried away several times now, the PC show was by far the best. It is what stuff dreams are made of! Go Carl

WOW!  What a moment that was.  When Jim and Carl are jamming right in front of each other...I got goosebumps!  Thanks for sharing and recording this.

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here, but god damn, Carl is a good musician!!! Nothing against J.Quaid (much respect!!!), but the color Carl brings to the band is unbelievable. Just throw an instrument at him...slide guitar, lap/pedal steel, or a horn, and who knows what's next, woodwinds,..a fucking zither!??! POW! he can play it...and WELL!  So much depth/warmth, and "Victory Dance" would not be possible w/out him. Just fuckin an all around ball of musical talent...!

GO TEAM CARL!

The "CUTTERS!" ("Breaking Away" reference...Carl'll get it). CARL RULES!

P.S. Listen to Carl Broemel-"All Birds Say" (audiophile quality, vinyl preferably) on a Sunday  preferably while in your robe, making an omelet. EARGASM!!!

P.P.S.-Just one guys opinion
