Does anyone know if this will b an issue?

It shouldn't be. Our experience with a different resort for a C9 excursion was just fine. And my friends who went to the Hard Rock for Panic in the Dominican said their wireless was good. Obviously we're all subject to a different resort in the midst of a big transition.
I've got high hopes.

I can't speak for the specific resort, but my wife and I were in the Yucatan area two summers back, and pretty much every hotel has wifi, can't imagine that this one wouldn't.  As for cell service, there seemed to be plenty of coverage, but you'll need to either make a temporary change to your plan, or keep your calls brief and expect to pay a bit for them.

And I'm strictly talking about the resort wireless. If you're planning to use your cell phone as normal, you should call your cell company first. International charges are not pretty if you don't change your plan before hand. For cell phone usage, we bought a disposable cell phone last time, but only because my parents went with us to help with our kids, but stayed at a different resort. This time around I'm just planning on using the resort wireless and use an app on my phone to text through the wireless.

I thought I read somewhere that calls to the US were free....maybe I'm wrong.  Checking now..
And on Heaven's Golden shore we'll lay our heads......

Jbonzo, I think you're right about that, but that is your landline in your room.

On a side note, if you want to text with others and you don't want to be charged international rates, download an app called Voxer. It works through wireless internet.

Yeah, and how about a UStream on someone's iPhone?  It worked for the Red Rocks broadcast last summer...

nooo sir it was very awesome.
Thanks, Ian!

I was very drunk that night.  :cheesy:

Eric counted the number of beers he heard me open during the broadcast.

It was 14 beers from 11:30pm-4:00am.

Apparently, I do my best work hammered!  :drum:

It was a fun night for sure.  Omnichord set included.
