Hot damn! A Jack White tease, an hour before the lineup drops?!

No MMJ, but this is shaping up to be a fucking awesome lineup.

And I would think Spanish Gold is more than a little likely, no? We gotta have SOME MMJ content!

EverythingChanges

I saw the jack white lineup clue! They should have just waited to surprise everyone at 11 with the lineup.

I'm definitely going the day he plays.

I'm interested in Jack White, Local Natives, Gary Clark Jr., SPANISH GOLD!, and Band of Horses (I guess).  Is there anything else I should pay attention to?  Lucius might be fun, and Trampled By Turtles isn't bad (just too southern sounding for my tastes).

I really hope Jack White, Local Natives, and Spanish Gold play on the same day.

Bummer...  They really put all their eggs into the headliners this year.  Such a disappointment.  They couldn't even get like Dr. Dog?  BOOOOOOOOOO

I agree with this statement.  However, I've never seen Jack White, so I will happily pay $75 for a single day pass to enjoy his set on the waterfront.  It will definitely be worth it if Spanish Gold and Local Natives play the same day.  Most of the other bands are ZZzzzzzz

If those are the only 3 on the line up you're interested in, you're doing it wrong.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

I can't help what I like and don't like musically.  If there's a band on the list you think I might like, by all means point me in their direction.  I want to see Jack White, and this is really the only way I'll be doing that.  I'm not doing anything wrong.  75% of this lineup is a snoozer from what I can piece together.  Bands like Spoon, Trampled By Turtles, Band of Horses, etc. would be worth watching if nothing else is going on at the time, but I find their music to be meh for the most part.

One man's trash is another man's treasure chest full of fucking awesome bands.

This lineup blew away every expectation I could have possibly had. And it also means I get to visit Louisville again, which makes me very fucking happy. WOO!

Outkast is going to be the waterfront dance party of the century.
Jack White will spaz-rock his way to Louisville infamy.
The Replacements are legends, and are guaranteed to be hilariously rockin'.
Beck and/or Ray Lamontagne at sunset? Sign me the fuck up.
And y'all KNOW I can't turn down a chance to groove to Sharon Jones and the DKs.
Toss in Spoon, Gary Clark Jr, Reignwolf, Soul Rebels, Action Bronson, Slint, TuneYards, Black Lips AND Spanish Gold?! Oh baby!

All this for $150? In terms of value, I don't know if this lineup can be beat.

walterfredo

the Replacements!! are you kidding me?  I had no idea they even played anymore?  Is this a one-off or do they tour?  Would absolutely love to see them.

I just noticed Mofro is on there! If the cards fall right, hopefully I score one solid Saturday on the Waterfront.  I wonder what kind of late night shows are planned.  Spanish Gold anyone?

I thought Outkast was a "novelty act". Do they actually have more than one song? How do they rate a "headlining spot"? This seems pretty sad (weak).

i guess they are a pretty successful novelty act with over 25,000,000 records sold.
Don't you ever turn it off

robb

so, is there anybody still trying to get rid of an early bird pass?
some get stoned, some get strange, sooner or later it all gets real.

Me, too. (Robb's first)
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

oistheone

At least you're livin' up to your screen name, buddy.

I guess we should now officially move this thread?

Jack White, Spanish Gold, Local Natives, Gary Clark Jr., and Mofro are the bands I'm excited about.

Bands I wouldn't mind watching are: Beck, Band of Horses, Ray LaMontagne, Spoon, Lucius, Trampled By Turtles, The Weeks, and Sharon Jones.

This list gets better the more I think about it.  I will wait until I see what bands fall on what days before I make my decision.

How can you claim to be an MMJ fan when they play Outkast Elevators before most shows...is that the one Outkast song you know? Outkast on the waterfront is going to be bananas!

LBSUNFLWR

I am pretty disappointed. I am not really a fan of Jack White, Beck or Outkast. Like I would watch their sets, and know some songs, but they don't get me excited at all.

what does excite me is Ray LaMontagne, Band of Horses, Jason Isbell, Jenny Lewis and Sun Kil Moon. and a few others I'll try to see. The Replacements should be pretty cool as well. Let's hope their sets don't overlap...
