Looks like Ray is playing on Sunday at Forecastle.

They just dropped the info on what bands play which days.

Holy shit Friday is stacked, almost too stacked. I wanted to see local natives, Gary Clark, spoon, Mofro, and twenty one pilots. Looks like I'm going to have to sacrifice two of them!

I wish they would move some Friday acts to Saturday. Damn Saturday is underwhelming for me, besides jack, Spanish gold, and maybe band of horses.

Sunday seems to be spread out nicely.

Fingers crossed for a good schedule.

Man, this daily breakdown just reinforces how stacked this lineup is. What a weekend this will be!

IMO Friday and Saturday are both great, and Sunday has my number one (Beck) but not much else I'm dying to see.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

For me Sunday is pretty great.

Must see acts for me that day:
Beck
Lucius
Jenny Lewis

Acts I will try to see depending on the schedule:
The Replacements
Reign Wolf
The Weeks
Trampled By Turtles
Tune Yards

I'm not big on much of Saturday, but It will be a great day to see random bands in between the few acts I want to see.  It kind of bugs me that Friday's higher tier is so packed.  Oh well, Forecastle looks like it will be a blast this year.

For Sunday, definitely Beck is the highlight.  I've been doing my homework and think The Replacements will be fun.  I cannot recommend Lucius enough!  Its not what I'd normally get into, but they caught my eye, covering MMJ's Wonderful at Solid Sound in '13, performed a free show just north of Iowa City a few months ago and did Wonderful again (and dedicated it to me, a nice nod), and are friends of Tommy and his wife (he played bass on their contribution to the Dylan in the 80s comp).  Its pop a la the B-52s but such tight vocal harmony and a unique backing band (2 drummers, one of whom keeps a guitar on his back at the ready, and a 2nd guitarist from my homestate of NH).  Not sure if they'll be your thing, Eric, but overall I like the balance of the daily lineups.

Here's my video from Solid Sound...

At first, I thought "man, I coulda used these acts to be divided a little more evenly according to my exact tastes", but then I realized this is the perfect way to do a fest. Lots of high-energy action on Friday and Saturday and then a nice chill Sunday. Well, the Replacements aren't really "chill", and in fact I'll probably be rockin' as hard as ever if they play "Love You Till Friday", but it will still act as a nice nostalgic wind down to an epic weekend. I'm trying to avoid mentioning a "days remaining" countdown, but man, getting way too excited here.

107 DAYS!

I still can't fully get into Beck's new album, but I'm sure I will love the show he puts on.  I completely agree with Lucius.  Very unique, and I would love to see them cover Wonderful at Forecastle.

I'm going to have a hard time picking between some of these acts. It looks like I can explore town with the husband earlier in the day then hit up the fest mid to late afternoon. It should be perfect!

Bringin' the ball and chain, Fully?  Look forward to meeting him.  Jim, right?

Yes, I am, but you won't see him at the festival, although he probably will come eat with us before the fest some. I feel sure we'll all get together and break bread before the doors open at least one day.

Definitely. Maybe he can join us for a late-night Omnichord show.

Probably not, he'll be sawing logs by the time I make it back to my room.

St. Paul and the Broken Bones sound like a lot of fun

The festival seems to have at least two more shows for Saturday under their sleeves.  Any ideas/speculations/hopes?

St Paul and Broken Bones will be ok, Mimosa is garbage.  Forecastle just continues to disappoint me on these announcements.

oistheone

I really dig St Paul and the Broken Bones, but Friday is going to be such an action-packed day, I don't know if I'll make the late show. I'm actually kinda glad Friday doesn't have any super unique can't miss shows, because I'll probably be a tired, sweaty mess after two hours of Outkast.
