I have heard 3 separate rumors on venue holds next Summer.

Personally, I'm holding out for lineup announcements for Mountain Jam, Forecastle and Lockn.  The latter is shaping up to be insane.
What's in here won't disappear

Lock'n would be unbelievable, they'd be a perfect fit.
Don't you ever turn it off

Haha. That'll work. but I'll get really psyched if/when it's official.

I have an airline credit through SW Airlines that I am waiting to use for hopefully Red Rocks this year! Also, hoping for Forecastle....my tour date hopes:
1. Chicago (Chicago Theater)
2. Milwaukee (Pabst Theater)
3. Louisville (Forecastle or record release show)
4. Red Rocks (hopefully a 3 night run)
5. Indianapolis

I would absolutely love to see them come back to Chicago Theater.  That was my first non-festival MMJ show ever, and recently went back there to see Neil Young.  The place is magical.

Whatever happens, we know that it's going to be good.  I can't think of a single time that i've been disappointed with anything that they have done tour wise.  They don't just go through the motions and have a tour just to have a tour.  They do things right.  They keep it real.

Between the extra time off and the quantity of new music that they will be putting out in the near future, this feels like a big turning point for the band.  I don't think they have now or will ever have a big enough fan base to do what Phish does, a smaller collection of tour stops with multi-night runs more the norm than the exception (they certainly would have the catalog for it, though), however, it would be nice to see some more multi-nights sprinkled in.  It'd be nice if Chicago got some 3-night love, they could certainly support it.  And for that matter what about Louisville?  How about some 2-nighters in bigger but not massive cities like Milwaukee?  Yes, my midwest bias is showing hehe.  Anyway, I just feel that they have too many good songs (plus the obligatory new-album songs which could be great good or decent) not to expand a little in this way.

I'm waiting to make summer plans until I find out if/when MMJ will play Red Rocks this summer.  I saw them with Band of Horses at RR a couple years ago and it pretty much changed my life.  I'm so excited at the possibility of them returning this summer.  I checked the Red Rocks summer calendar and it looks like they have some shows booked already for June, July and August.  I'm hoping there will be an announcement after OBH.

Also, Stevie you make a great point.  I agree with the multiple night show idea.  I feel like a 2 hour one night show would still leave me pretty hungry.

I'm digging this.

I agree with Stevie about some multiple night midwest runs. Problem about Chicago is the noise permits. Chicago will never get a 35 song set with serious jam seshs.
Doesn't matter what you're doin', as long as you're losin' your head

CHIMMJFAN

Yeah it's been awhile since Chicago had multiple night shows with MMJ (Chicago Theater for Evil Urges Tour). I've always wanted a NYE Chicago show at Navy Pier and then a big after party on one of the Chicago boat cruises.

Chicago crowds are always great and MMJ definitely gets a lot of love out here, I can't wait for 2015!

Indeed. Three nights at the Palace would be sublime. If the Avett Brothers can do it, why can't MMJ?

That's the truth! The Palace is amazing!!

Whether we get news pre or post OBH, we should be getting news soon. I hope they make a stop at Brewery Ommegang. It really is the perfect venue for a summer concert. The area is beautiful, the staff is cool as shit, and the beverages are waaaay above average. Please hit Brewery Ommegang MMJ!!!
