How exactly do you get to and from Randall's Island?? Are there ferries involved?

Walk, Drive, Ferry, Bus

There are ferries and ferry passes but I've been told sometimes there can be a LONG wait before and after the show if you don't mind waiting. Other people have recommended other routes to me.

Last year I did all three other methods of transportation. I walked over the bridge (there are two or three ways you can walk in from different parts of the city (Manhattan, Queens, and maybe Bronx/Brooklyn...I forget the third).  I walked in from Manhattan and while it was a lengthy walk it was relatively easy to follow (signs and tons of other people walking).

There is a bus that they run that takes you right to the entrance and it stops at a subway stop. So basically I got into Penn station and took the subway up to the stop I was told to (via the site) and there was a line/bus that would run every so often that takes you right there. I think it's maybe a few dollars.....or possible complimentary. I don't recall but they'll have more info on the site.

Finally, if you have a friend in the area or want to pay for a taxi you can have them drop you off at the dropoff area. This is probably easiest if you don't mind paying a cab or have someone that wouldn't mind dropping you off. Not sure how easy it is to pick people up after the show and getting taxis after will likely be very tough but going in is a breeze.

Probably should have not been lazy and just checked the website first huh? Thanks for all the info though. I'd be pretty bummed if they don't sell single day passes as Im already committed to Firefly which is gonna be a week two after this.

Yea, last year I did Bonnaroo the following week which made my Roo not as relaxing as it could have been because I was sore and tired and had blisters already because of doing a 3-day Governors Ball pass.

I'm definitely banking on a one-day pass happening. MMJ for at least an hour and a half plus there would be a few other acts I'd want to see. Hoping for Saturday or Sunday, though. Friday makes it tougher.

Governors Ball hinted on FB that daily schedules will be revealed very soon. If they do single day tix, that would probably coincide.  Just sayin.

Gov Ball just tweeted out the line ups. MMJ on Friday.

Damn. Looks like i'll have to miss out on them at Gov Ball. May try for a Sunday day pass though.

Hoping they have at least one NYC date on the upcoming tour. Would love to see them play Barclay's Center or something.

Sunday looks terrific.  Depending on MMJ's schedule, I might just do that day as well.
