Jazz Fest is out.  The big TBA reveal turned out to be..........Lenny Kravitz (wump wump).

Guess they couldn't get Missy Elliot.

We always book ASAP. Except for a couple places right in Morrision that are pretty pricey, I believe the closest hotels are about 5 miles away. We usually stay in the area of Wadsworth and 285. Parking is free, but like most events, it can take a while to get out. I don't remember how much taxi's cost, but they are plentiful. There is some camping nearby, but we have never done that.

One thing you might look into is bustoshow.org. They have a couple pick-up/drop-off locations in the area. Get a hotel near one of those and get a ticket for the bus. From Boulder last year round trip was around $30 per person.

Here is some info from the Red Rocks website...

my advice is GO. if you don't spend a single dollar between now and then in order to save, it would be totally worth it.

We stayed at Sheraton Denver West last time. It was a nice enough hotel. Car rental is pricy,  but you'll need a car. It's a beautiful place, but it isn't a cheap trip.

That's where we stayed the time before, and they offered some nice deals on staying there. I'm pretty sure more than a few of us got a third night free or reduced cost for booking two nights. It worked out great since we went out a day or two early. If they do a 2-3 night stand this time  look for that deal.

A few of us from NYC/NJ flew out together from Newark, and went in on the car/SUV rental and gas. It worked out great, and kept the cost down. Even if people aren't flying together if you try and coordinate arrival times, splitting the car rental will help.

I'm sure if they announce RR dates they'll be plenty of posts on here, and easy enough to work out some plans.

Does anyone remember ticket prices for last time they resided at RR?

Did anyone hear any credible rumors at OBH? When are they going to announce shows, any residencies planned, duration of tour etc?

I heard three nights at the Warfield from someone who seemed confident.

There will be a RR show but likely just one.

Look for a nice fall tour with multiple nights in various cities.

IMO, 2 of 3 of the new songs were awesome with the other being ok.

The band's energy was fantastic.  Very refreshed.  They are gonna bring it for sure on this next tour.
was some shakin' and some record playin'

Eric, I think you will dig the new stuff.  The new songs from nights 2 and 3 were great songs AND great live songs.

Hmmmm. Only one night at RR might alter my plans. I definitely like the sound of multiple nights in some cities though.  I was hoping for that, and probably going to tailor my traveling plans towards those.

Start giving some thought to a fun few days in San Francisco.  We have some shows to do together this year Eric!

No doubt! Hoping for a Philly/MPP mini run in addition to the multi nighters.

This is awesome news! I was so worried that they were going to play Outside Lands again.

APR

I'm confident in the San Fran report.  He works in radio out there and is not bs.

I'll have to ask the big Red Rock fans when it becomes official...... if you had to pick one destination with the choice being three SF shows versus one RR, I'd go for the three.

The new songs sounded amazing.  One was particularly long with an extended medium paced jam.  They sounded more like old songs (at least the ones from night 2 and 3) than the newer more unusual ones like Evil Urges, Black Metal, Highly Suspicious (which I also love).
