Wednesday pre-party benefit update!

We've just learned that the silent auction items will include an event poster and a copy of The Waterfall on vinyl, both autographed by the band! Much more to come...

Looking forward to placing a few bids.

Woohoo!

Also, if you're not able to attend, but want to bid on any of the items (we'll have a full list up soon and there are some GOODIES on it!) you can designate someone who's attending as your proxy and they can bid for you. Work all that out between yourselves, though!
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

Anyone staying friday? Got plans? We are going to the Cubs game in the afternoon and Second City in the evening.

to further solidify my jealousy of y'alls Hiss Golden Messenger opener, they just announced William Tyler will be joining the band for these dates.  you guys are in for a treat if you are not familiar with HGM.

Listened to some William Tyler the other day after a write up and DL on NYCtaper. Dude can pick it. Is he/was he in HGM?
Don't you ever turn it off

Uhh, a time would be helpful. Also is this the entire bar or is there some type of separate room for MMJ fans?
"Where's Jim going?"

I have an extra for 6/10 in Section Main Floor 3L, Row DD.  Face (cost) value.  PM if interested.

The brews go on tap at 5pm on Tuesday and will be pouring at those prices continuiously  through Thursday night at closing time (2am). On Thursday from 5pm-7pm I'll be pouring off complimentary tastes for all comers.

There is not a designated space for MMJ people per se, but I am going to work with the people there to save some space as business so allows.

I have an extra pair of tickets for the 3 nights, please contact me ASAP if interested.

Anyone know when shows have been starting? I know doors are at 7:30 for these. Is it safe to say 9?

Hiss Golden Messenger is primarily the vehicle for one MC Taylor - whom if you really go down the rabbit hole with as i did, also fronted a great band called Court & Spark back in the late 90's/early 00's.  i think William Tyler joins the touring band every now and then but i don't think he was ever officially part of the band.

BTW, NYCtaper has just put up another quality HGM show.

I downloaded three HGM albums (Lateness of Dancers, Bad Debt, Poor Moon) before entering the garden this morning to do some serious work.  I really enjoyed them and am partial to Poor Moon for whatever reasons.

Anyway, I think this is going to be a great pairing.  I don't know how much this exists in practice but i have in my head that Jim and the guys could be very much influenced by the simple folk sound, emotion and spirit of HGM in a way that results in them pulling out some of their older, more rare numbers that conjure up the same kind of energy (If All Else Fails, Just Because I Do, Come Closer, etc..)

Likewise, and perhaps more likely, maybe HGM will feel inclined to get a little reckless with the instruments and play a little louder for a crowd that is used to a certain level of intensity.

Or i could be way off base and each group will stick to their guns.  Either way, I think we can all see the "Wonderful" collaboration coming from a mile away and in no way do i think that takes away from what should be a very beautiful moment.

I asked this question earlier and no one got back to me, but I think 7:30 is show.  I'd still expect MMJ around 9

I have one night 2 ticket available now.  Section 3L, row DD.  Just looking for face value OBO.  As badly as I want to go, Stanley Cup finals take precedent.  PM if interested....I will be in the pit tomorrow, and work just a few blocks away for pick-up Wednesday as well.

smccannstephen

Once again, I have (2) 3 day tickets (Main Floor 3L EE) that I am looking to sell way under face value. I need to get rid of them ASAP. Please message me if you are interested.

zevilone

I have 2 tickets for 6/10 in the 2nd row of Loge 4,  Row BB,  cant use them now, if anyone is interested let me know.   These seats are ridiculously good if you want to see everything, 2nd row behind the balcony rail, dead center of the theater.
