Every non-festival show should have early entry, it's just a matter of how well the venue facilitates it.

Just a heads up for those looking for rooms...I just booked a room at the Holiday Inn a block over from the Theatre. It wasn't cheap at $180 something after taxes, but it was the closest and really the best option for what's currently available.

Howard Johnson, baby.  50 bucks (booked several weeks ago)

Thanks for mentioning Howard Johnsons. I've got to cancel my reservations there since my traveling partner's has two other reservations.

Thanks for mentioning those two reservations.      I tried to get Holiday Inn a few times but they were sold out.  Maybe some of those young Republicans are cancelling.

Yeah, but you'll have to drive or cab it. I'll stumble home.

Taxis are super cheap.  $5/person will get you just about anywhere in Athens.

Ha,  true true. I just look at as a convenience cost.

So.....just to confirm...this appears to be "an evening with" setup?  No opener listed on MMJ's page or on the venue itself.

Should we expect the album in full?  The anticipation is incredible for this show.

Personally I very much hope that this show and others on this tour are 8 or so new songs intermingled through the set rather than playing the album in full.

I like full album shows for a band revisiting an album after a long time. I don't think it works as well for a band playing something they just released as a full album.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

However, if it is an evening with type of setup, they could run through the new joint in a hour, followed by a 15 song second set/encore.

I would love to hear the whole new album in full while its still fresh!  And I can't think of a better setup, than giving us, the faithful, the best of both worlds to jump start this tour!

Usually I would feel the same, but this album just sounds best to me when played start to finish.  I'm not sure why.  I can't even tell you the song order for most albums but this one feels like a story.   I'm not expecting them to play the whole thing but I'd love it!

I'm with you on this Whippy.    The best album shows I've seen were all revisited after a long time. T5, Bruce, Steely Dan were all fantastic shows hearing albums I've been listening to for years.

I wouldn't mind hearing the whole new album over the three Chicago shows but I don't think hearing it straight through early on in the tour works well for any band or new album.

I really enjoyed hearing the band play the entire album back in early April,  but I'm also really interested in seeing how these songs blend in with the others in their catalogue. Mostly I'm looking forward to a great weekend with my friends and a return to MMJ live shows. The fact that they are "an evening with"  is just a great big cherry on top of that sundae!  I haven't seen Whippy in a year,  Jaye since 2012, about a year since I've seen Crispy,  and two years since I danced in the rain with ms evonne. Those are just a few of you,  but I can't wait!

We are going Athens then Knoxville so I'm hoping epic 3 hour shows at both :)
