hi folks, any suggestions on hotels?  best to just stay near the theater or stay outside of downtown and save a little cash.  will have a car.  thanks for any info.

My daughter and I are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Milwaukee Downtown, 176 W. Wisconsin Ave.  Its a 2-minute walk to the Riverside Theatre, 116 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Two nights w/two queen beds was $413.32 (tax incl.)

Upscale options
Hotel Metro - www.hotelmetro.com
The InterContinental - www.intercontinentalmilwaukee.com

More affordable, but still a short and safe walk or taxi ride away
The Plaza - http://plazahotelmilwaukee.com

If a larger chain offers you the peace of mind you require:
The Hilton Garden Inn - hiltongardeninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/wisconsin/hilton-garden-inn-milwaukee-downtown-MKEMDGI/index.html

Further out (but closer to the casino, if that's your thing):
The Iron Horse Hotel - www.theironhorsehotel.com

thanks!!!  much appreciated.  long time lurker, hope to meet some of you folks in milwaukee.  moving with my family from nyc to central wisconsin in the next year or so....eager to meet some midwestern jacket fans!

I always use priceline for dt milwaukee and it has always done me right.  Stayed at the Pfister once for less than 100 a night.  Will report back with whatever deal they give me.

Getting very excited for these shows, me and a buddy are flying out from Philly.

Quick question for locals - Does the Pit get super crowded, or does the wristband policy keep it comfortably spaced?

ISO 2 tickets for Saturday night by the way.  Thanks!

The pit for previous MMJ shows at this venue has been very comfortable, but those shows did not sell out like Saturday did.  The pit for a recent Alabama Shakes show was pretty tightly packed, and I expect Saturday's MMJ show will require pit goers to get a little familiar with each other, while Sunday will be really comfy.

I have two general admission tickets for the Sunday show that I will sell for face value if bought by a forum member. Let me know.

Anyone have a good images or seating chart of the GA configuration for these shows? I'm taking my 13-year-old daughter and, along with my current health, will likely leave the pit for others. I'm wondering what the floor and balcony seating will be like.

I've seen this, but wonder how many rows of floor seats are removed to create the pit...

This is helpful, thanks.  That is not for me, good to know so I don't waste time waiting in line.

Still looking for two saturdays btw if anyone hears of any.

Thanks!

Just spoke to the Box Office folk, and the kind gentleman at the window informed me that the plan for the MMJ shows is to remove (approximately) the first ten rows of seats that you see in the previously posted chart to create the GA/Pit.  All tickets for these shows are GA tickets - they will hand out X wristbands for Pit access to those that request them, and once those are gone you just pick an actual sit-down seat.  They generally do not announce how many bands are up for grabs, and I know from personal experience that it is difficult at best to convince any of the ushers to give one person multiple bands for persons who are running late.

How this info changes given that there is now a Soundcheck Party in MKE (I cannot believe I am missing these for a wedding) is unknown.  I am happy to get answers for questions, though, as I work in the same building as the Box Office.

Curious if we know what time during the day the wristbands will be given out?

Hey roll callers,
I have an extra set of roll call tix for the sat 6/20/15 Milwaukee show.

PM if interested.

Cheers,
TIPPITOES

P.S.
I've got soundcheck passes for sun 6/21/15 (Father's Day)
Wonderful union has informed me that I DO NOT have poster pass.
(Explaination=Browser trouble...yeah right!?!)

So if there's a couple or anyone with an extra"signed"poster they want to sell/trade/etc...
I would be eternally grateful.

PM me if interested

In my numerous experiences at this venue, wristbands are given out inside, and have always been made available at the time the doors open, not before.

Ahh cool.....so I'm guessing if we have early entry for Roll Callers and we get there about an hour before doors open we should be good?

This will be the first Roll Call early entry for MMJ at Riverside as far as I recall. Even without early entry, I think getting in line 1 hour early would still be enough for pit access.

Agreed.  I think Milwaukee show #1 marks the first time MMJ has ever sold out here, and even then I wouldn't be worried.  However, as I posted earlier, it is rare to find an usher who will give you an extra pit wristband for your friend who is running late.  In the past, I have stashed scissors and tape outside of the venue in order to remedy this.  And, yes, there is (as far as I know) always an in-and-out policy in place at this venue.  Just get your hand stamped.  And don't fall in the river and wash it off.
