I agree but it is inevitable.  We have been saying this for years.  My first Phish ticket was $13.50 at the local record shop.  Ticketmaster is just as much to blame as the greedy bastards who put them right out for sale.

In the end, I love this band and if it costs me a little more for a wonderful night experience, I'm okay with it.  Simply supply and demand economics.

Again, while I do NOT agree, we cannot change the fundamental aspects of business economics.

You're looking at a very small amount of tickets available now.  On Friday there will be ~900 tickets released.  Yes, more people will be online buying them and yes the show will sell out quickly, but a $200 ticket isn't going to hold as much value when there are more tickets available.  People paying the ridiculous price of $200+ that they're going for on stubhub right now are fools when the show isn't even sold out.  Factor that in with a full tour and many stops within 4 hours of GA, the demand isn't as great as you think it is.

Yes and no.  I have 4th row to the Fox but will pay whatever for this show.  it is the TOUR OPENER in a venue of less than 900.  You have to be kidding me if you think we will be able to purchase for $100 closer to show time.  I hope you are right because I'm holding out for Friday tickets online.  But if these sell out to true fans, and no scalpers, the ticket prices will SOAR past $200.  Just my .02 but don't think people realize how tough this will be to get a ticket.

Take a peek at Chicago shows.  They're over $400 each night and while that venue is insane, it's not the tour opener or the historic GA Theatre.  I hope I am SOOOO wrong but this doesn't feel like it's going to get any better.  Who would have thought "The Dead" would be selling for $2K+ per ticket?  Not me.
If it would have been easy, I would not have cared.

Yeah, at 200 i would probably hold off and wait.  However, i wouldn't be surprised if tickets stay in the $200 range, maybe go even higher.  It's the first ever show of the album tour, there is no opener, and it begins at 9 with the theater able to stay open until 2am.  Certainly feels like this could be a very special night.  Add to that the fact that it's such a tiny, intimate venue.

I know it's possible to still get tickets through the public onsale but i'm happy i scooped up mine for 128 each while i had the chance.  To not have to stress about this for the next 3 days is almost worth the extra on its own.

I think I actually pulled one and then screwed up by trying to change the quantity.  At least I had one in my cart, though when you read the info about Roll Call I'm not sure this means I actually had one or not.

Either way, I haven't been this pissed at myself in a while.

The UGA Law graduation is on Saturday after the show.

Yeah, once it says you have one, you have one.  So you had one.

AtDawn

I still can't believe I did that- it seemed easy enough so for some reason I thought I would be able to change it to 2 after initially overreacting and trying for one.

Still managed to get a good ticket for one of the Fox shows after getting over my fuck up.
