The only 2 options for roll call Merriweather were GA and seats.  Does anyone know if the GA tickets are GA Floor or just GA?

They are GA floor.  Thats the way to go for MPP

was some shakin' and some record playin'

I had same dilemma and went ahead and bought the General Admission even though they did not specify GA Pit.  Based on the price - $61.88 each - they can't be lawn since MPP has the ticket range starting at $40 and I sure hope we are not getting whacked for $21.88 in fees.

Pit at MPP is great.  Not all that big, but they never seem to oversell it.

Awesome, thanks for the reply.  That is what I was hoping for.  I just bought the GA tickets but wouldn't have been happy to find out they were lawn.  The lawn there can suck if you don't get in there 2 hours early to get a seat.

Thanks!!!

I'm not sure about other shows, but they oversold the pit last year for Phish.  It was over-crowded, hot and hard to move around.  I opt'd for killer seats today.  The pit was too much effort.

I agree. The last two MMJ shows there the pit were WAY oversold too. I can deal with a lot, but it was a lot of effort.

I would still go for GA pit just because 1) I haven't seen MMJ at this venue before and closer the better...

how big is the pit area in relation to other venues? I'm guessing there isn't a bad view in the pit anywhere you're? correct?

I'd say there is at least 1,000 people crammed in there, and probably a lot more. It's not as big as Alpharetta if you're familiar with that type of pit but still kind of big,IMO. Reserve seats start at row G but it's way more than six rows deep. I'd imagine if they had seats in there it would be several rows of triple letters followed by a decent amount of double lettered rows, then A-F.

Views are fine throughout that pit. You'll be happy with that. It's all the other stuff you have to deal with. Not only is it oversold but probably the least monitored of any pit I've ever been in. People seem to be able to crash that pit quite easily.

I'm not opposed to some work for a great spot, and maintaining that spot but after dealing with that particular pit several times now, I'm not really thrilled about doing it again. I'm gonna try for a nice res in the general sale, and if I get lucky, I'll be selling my pit ticket.

The pit goes back about 20 rows deep at the center and thins out as you move toward the side of the stage.  If you go in early and get a good spot and you'll be fine for the first set.  Our mistake was going to the bathroom together during set break and losing our spot.  We tried for two songs to get a good position and had to bail out of the pit to enjoy the rest of the show.  The advantage of the a pit ticket is the wrist band.  We used it to walk down the aisles and score great pavilion seats in the 5th row.  For this pre-sale I choose reserved seats and got 3 center seats in row J.  It looks like they skip row I, so those appear to be 3rd row center seats.  I've never been hooked up like that from RC.  Lol, I'm still in disbelief and keep checking the order section in my RC to see if they are still there.

i got one later that night.  the reserved seats were gone so picked up one GA

I agree you'll be good if you go in early and get a good spot you'll be fine but Jacket only does one set so if you do bail during the show for the bathroom or something to drink, you're pretty much not getting back to your spot. Most pits you can  even though there's a lot of people, but at MPP it's so overcrowded it's pretty much impossible to make your way back to the front,IMO.

Nice job on the 3rd row center.  If I can get something similar on Saturday, I'll be selling my pig ticket.

Eric, the good thing is that there should be a good number of us in the pit which always makes the it so much more enjoyable.

I've done it three times Angelo, and this time I'm prepared to have my fun with everyone at the Sheraton, and in the lot. I think I'll be letting someone else have a shot at the rail this time.

One year it was particularly bad, and it was a good thing there were so many Roll Callers in there or it might've gotten a hell of a lot uglier than it was.

Will do.

You know how much I like the rail for MMJ but this is one I'm not bummed to pass on if I can score a sweet seat.

I wasn't referring to the rail per se, but the pit in general. I won't be lining up to get in early. It's a bummer to read your thoughts on the pit there though. How are you planning on getting rid of your RC tix? Aren't they will call?

I'll be getting there early to check into the Sheraton, and if I get lucky with the reserved in the general sale, I'll just pick up my RC Ga before I check in. In the mean time, I'll post the extra here, and if no one takes it, I'll see what I can do with it in the lot. If I don't score a good reserved, I'll get my pit wristband, and play it by ear.

Didn't mean to bum you or anyone else out about the MPP pit. It could very well be fine this year. I just think I've done it enough , and wouldn't mind the change.

I will say if you're doing it, do the early entry , and get as close as you can to the rail. The middle, and farther back is where it gets to be a bit much,IMO. The rail will be Rc's for the most part, and we take care of our own!

Tis all good hermano. I'm no less excited! Thanks for schooling me on these things. This is only my second RC presale and the first was the JJ show at JB's in Philly so in a way I'm completely new to this. Did the pit sell out in 2012?
