really, though-what are they up to?  do you see a new record, a new tour?  do you see top ten greatness?  continual touring into the next decade?

so many questions.  what are your thoughts on this?

Real tough question to answer....I think much of it has to do with Jimmy and where he wants to go with the band.  If I remember right, I think Jim wanted to take some time off form touring which from all they have done might not be a bad idea both physically and mentally.  Certainly I hope that the continue as I am sure we all do.  It was be tragic if the last show I saw would be it.  No doubt they are one of the greatest bands to put on a show. I do think there is another record to come and do think there is at least one more tour to be had.  I am counting on it....

I'm still waiting for the "Oregon Trail" experience!

I think they'll pay another visit to Europe to make up for the summer's cancelled shows.  Then back home for R&R (rest&relaxation, not rock&roll).  That way they'll be ready when e'town:the movie comes out and they blow up

all of the above  :D ;) with the appropriate amount of recovery times built in of course...
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

I think a recovery period will do some good.  In the meantime they will make a new fantastic record, which may contain some catchy hits.

Did you never ask yourself the question why the darkness gets airplay and the jacket doesn't?

Totally incomprehensible.

I ask myself that question everyday in the car, when really shitty bands pollute the airwaves and miracle cures like MMJ aren't healing the masses.

I agree...it really does not make any sense.  That band has put out ONE below average album but it still somehow makes it on the radio.  Once again, that is the reason I don't listen to the radio.  DOn't need to waste my time on that lousy music when I can put on MMJ.

wait, ONE MORE TOUR?!?!  are you kidding?!

there's more than one coming, I'd bet money on it!

Well, I'd really like to get my hands on a professional live album (I still haven't bought the one from livebonnaroo 'cause I've been too broke). There's something about the way that those songs are played live...They put a little more rock into it. I need it.

But, I guess they'd have to do another tour or at least a few more shows soon for that to happen unless they recorded some shows already and we didn't know about it.

great imagery there dude.  this is probably why I seek out talk radio or head left of the dial for tunes ;)

A new album with just a little more spooky sad ballads that make you wanna break down and cry, next to the rockers... including, finally, a full version of 'Sunrides and the girls scream'. After that, a European tour that hits Utrecht and Amsterdam, where they play 'Cobra', 'If all else fails', 'Come closer', 'Chills', 'Steam engine'. Please.  ;D

couldn't agree more that they need some r&r. will they resurface....maybe by spring, summer or next fall. One has to wonder how much the departure of johnny quaid hurt the band in terms of creativity. how much imput did he have on the structure of the songs and how they evolved? jim has written everything, and as an artist, is developing and changing. frankly, I don't miss Dan Cash much. I think the replacement had better right hand and knew where to fill up the songs. I for one can't wait till they ride again, but I want it to be on their terms and in the zone that is going to create the amazing art that I listen to often. If that means longer time off then so be it. agree or disagree???

Whatever their future holds...I'll be here, knowing that they are one of my favorite bands. And I've known it since the very first live set I'd ever seen(never having heard them or even of them).

Music is a long road

If they need a hiatus...fine by me
If they want to record a new record..even better
If they do something more pop oriented..I doubt it
If they don't tour for three years..God forbid

Whatever it takes to keep them liking what they do for a living... as friends and as a band.
