The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Spring (among the living) is an amazing track.  My buddy works at Tunespeak and they sent them a copy of the album.  I heard it straight through last night.  It will not disappoint

Stevie

i don't even know what that measure is about, but if it's out of 100 it would be a crime for anyone to rate this lower than a 76.

I'll go with, "What is 76?" Fetus.

My Morning Jacket Rebounds With Its Best Album in a Decade http://grantland.com/hollywood-prospectus/one-big-circle-how-my-morning-jacket-rebounded-with-its-best-album-in-a-decade/   very good review of the new album my low end metacritic score is getting plowed right now it even profanes my fav song war begun

Stevie

Aside from the fact that i strongly disagree with most of his opinions and tastes regarding past Jacket albums and songs (for example, he claims evil urges is the worst mmj album and that four out of five mmj fans would agree... Circuital anyone??), he makes Jim sound like a very pessimistic guy.  Not a fan of the article.

interesting that you think the writer made Jim sound pessimistic when it's Jim's quotes that come across that way.  I liked that Jim sounded honest in what he told the writer about feeling like they haven't gotten a fair deal or that youth is wasted on the young.

Im aware that Jim said those things, my argument is that i doubt that's all he said.  Having read and watched a number of jim interviews, he tends to lean on the bright side of things and i think that was poorly represented even with the positive quote tacked onto the abrupt ending.

I think the bigger issue for me though is that he speaks for all jacket fans stating that 80% of us think EU is the worst album.  Any jacket fan worth their salt knows its Circuital and its not even close.  Not up for debate, not an opinion, its a scientific fact.

Let's not act like we know Jim from media interviews. It's okay that Jim isn't always sunshine and roses. Some might say its a good thing to express a full range of emotions and feelings as long as you don't linger too long in a negative space.

I've probably read some of the same stuff you have and get where you are coming from, but who's to say those interviewers were any good at their jobs...it's their job to get insight from the artist that others have not.

Jeezoos, me thinks some of you folks try to hard to geek out on every aspect of this band and its members, meanings of songs, thought processes of the band, this is better than that...and on and on. Maybe just enjoy the kickass music and rawk the fuk out when the opportunity provides itself. The constant (over)analysis is tiring.

Agree with parker's first sentence above.

Couldn't agree more.
"Where's Jim going?"

Stevie

I never claimed to know Jim personally, i only claimed to know how he usually comes off in interviews.  This article was part interview... so apples to apples.  That said, is it really that big of a deal that i didn't like the article?

Did you knock the writer for speaking for all jacket fans and then speak for all jacket fans in the same paragraph?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I'm not knocking him for speaking for jacket fans, i'm knocking him for being wrong.  If he had it correct i'd silently nod my head in approval and make a mental note "this guy is one of us."  But if he can't even appreciate Highly Suspicious..... Next.

Stevie, please tell me the correct order of MMJ albums from best to worst so that I don't make a fool out of myself and misstate the obvious facts.  I want to make sure I'm viewed as "one of us" and not some clueless idiot outsider.  Thanks in advance.
