Natalie Prass

Has anyone heard the Natalie Prass album? It's certainly not as loud as MMJ but it's one of my favourite albums this year. Saw her a couple of weeks ago at a tiny venue in Manchester (England) and she was awesome. Lots of live stuff on YouTube and the record is beautiful.

I've only heard Bird of Prey but it's definitely a cool song.

Seriously - the whole album is so well put together and it sounds effortless. Apparently she had some whole career (that seems to be hidden/covered up so far) as a writer in Nashville, TN, and the album is a lovely mix of country, old soul, and left of centre singer songwriter stuff. Check out some of her live stuff on youtube - when she plays with the horn section is spine tingllng.

All I know is she played in Jenny Lewis' band and then did a little tour opening for Ryan Adams. That's good enough for me...have to give her a listen!!
