Sleazy Rider

This show was my first after a long wait and I would love to relive this time of my life.
It would be much appreciated.
Politics. It's a drag. They put one foot in the grave, and the other on The Flag.

Same here!  I was there, and it was the first MMJ show that I ever attended and didn't tape.   I heard that a recording did surface later, but I am not sure about its quality.    That was a splendid night, the crowd was incredible. and they tore it up.   The highlight for me was Into the Woods.   Bobby Bare, Jr. and several other Viking-helmeted singers sang backup during Into the Woods.   Jim was his same hilarious self that night.   Salivating for a recording as well!!!

Brian (sweatboard, i can't remember which handle he's got on right now) taped this one, but i think his intent with it (since we were so close and around so many screamers (me, tract, L.A., and corey included)) was to distribute it to those who really wanted it, but not to post it up on archive.org. i've got a copy if brian doesn't get back on here soon. i would go ahead and shoot him a message though, since he's got the original copy which probably is a bit better in quality.
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

Wasn't this the recording that was accidentally done in mp3 format instead of wav... which would mean that it wouldn't be suited for converting to FLAC because you can't upgrade a lossy format?

Right? Or was that a different recording?

Kory

It looks like I have this folks. I'll wait for the OK from Brian and if he's cool with the recording I can put it on the archive. What I have is flacs and mentions nothing about the mp3s...

I've got no problem with that.  I think it's the only source so it might as well be out there.

I could be wrong but I think the mp3 deal was a diffrent show.  I remember being really pissed about that at the time but not half as pissed as I ended up being after the Rud show. >:(  Still pissed.
There's Still Time.........

I hear ya Brian, I'm mad I didn't buy my taping gear a month sooner... oh well, 10 more months to wait, at least it did get recorded.

Thanks Kory, what kind of rig did you buy?  Just curious...

Is where I wanna make my home......

I'm on the cheap right now, just got it to tape local bands that aren't getting taped... Wax Fang, Follow the Train, etc.

I had borrowed a friends gear which consisted of a Sharp MD recorder (non-HD) and a pair of unbranded stealth type mics and a bass roll off filter. I liked the sound and size of it all, I nearly duplicated the setup.

I got a Sharp MD recorder and a pair of Giant Squid Omnidirectional Mics. It's not exactly lossless but I can at least get a recording of something that may never get taped. On a related note, Giant Squid mics are hand made and are of very high quality materials, I am very happy with them.

The only thing I need now is a stand of some sorts, I'm already getting tired of searching for something to clip to.

Maybe it was the BHAM show that got the mp3 treatment. My mind is bad sometimes. :)
