Thanks razral. I think STEAM is prob a good bet. I'm callin Carried Away there or SFO. I will be extremely jelous/happy for y'all. Maybe you'll get REALLY LUCKY and get the not played almost ever "Trouble Sleep". I mean Vegas is a city that NEVER SLEEPS. Think that's a long shot but...you never know. But Kenny's (as in Kenny G. My joke with my GFriend and a couple buddies, about Carl on the sax) DEFINATELY bustin out the sax tonight. He gotten so much better playin the damn thing! LOVE IT when he busts it out. Kenny on the sax, pedal steel, slide, or just the Les Paul or one of his Dusenburgs, which he seems to favoring more and more is fuggin' great. That guy is one unbelievable multi-instrumentalists. With a banshee like wail when needed (he's shrieks higher notes than Yim on Victory Dance). SETTING SUN!!! Anyway I'm rambling. Point being Carl fuggin RULES!

GO TEAM CARL!!!

And thanks for any updates , razral!!!

(And Yeh, I'm a MASSIVE  The Band fan. I mean they were THE BAND! I actually started a tradition about 15 years ago and have my whole family watch The Last Waltz every Thanksgiving! For real) I also made a beer called The Weight in honor of Levon's passing.
That man was incredible. Rambling again. Hope y'all are getting a good one. Thanks again!

I am so damn sad I couldnt make it out to Vegas for these shows, I almost couldnt stop in to see the set lists, but I'm definitely happy for those that could make it. "Death Is the Easy Way" yesterday at SC, unreal! Then a great looking set list later that night....I can't wait to see what they played tonight. I really wish I could take more time off of work to get to these shows, lol

Two great nights of music.  I should mention Stran of Oaks also killed it both nights.  My favorite and the most fitting MMJ opener I've seen to date

Oh yeh forgot about that one. A buddy of mine was there and was live txtin me the setlist while  I was on a road trip. (Muchos gracias, again Kirk!)

Same feeling again. Jealous, but happy for your buddy...
There's probably a German word that perfectly describes that feeling/ situation.
(Like the word shadenfreude, which perfectly describes it's awkward situation.

FuBar

Damn!!!! I love the show I saw but wow, Jim, couldn't you have given us at least a Dancefloors and Cobra and Masterplan over Touch Me II and Victory Dance and Wordless Chorus three songs that have been played the last three times (with Wordless its been the last 4 times). I dont wanna sound like a dickhead complainer, but when you requested those songs tirelessly day after day from April to October and they play them a show later? Kinda bums you out even though you loved the show you saw.

Guess I gotta be glad for a buddy, I ve still only seen them twice, I'm gonna need to see them for a lot longer to get those rarities I guess

i totally get being dissapointed. i do (kindve). at the same time, SLC is a smaller market, and was only one show.

When theyre touring specifically for an album, you cant expect to get a bunch of rareities with a one night run in my opinion. I may be wrong, but just my thoughts!

jcc0065

but from the SLC recording i heard, that State of the Art > Get the Point > Dondante > Thin Line was just incredible!!!

Bulldog

Wondering what everyones thoughts were on the better of the two, wife was all for Friday and I think Sat was off the charts...

I so screwed up though, went Team Jim Fri, and Carl Saturday and had it ass backwards. Carl was defiantly on point Friday night and Jim was having a ball and all over the place Saturday. From my perspective Jim was having the time of his life Saturday.

IT WAS!!! It was the first time i've ever loved Get The Point, i used to hate that song and now...I love it.

Yeah i get that, its a smaller market and even though the place was respectably filled, it wasn't sold out and there had to be a last second venue change, which is a bitch on everybody. I get that they didn't because of that, but at the same time, they know how to play these songs in their sleep, and stuff like Gideon for the 100th time, Wordless and Victory Dance and especially Touch Me Pt. II and OBH lose their power when played every show.

They have such a magical discography don't they guys and gals???

I was just happy they played 12 songs id never seen live, 7 Waterfall tracks, State of the Art, It Beats 4 U, What A Wonderful Man, I Will Sing You Songs and that brutal, epic Dondante.

SPLINDED first night all through. Talked a buddy to go with the 2nd night and slipped into comas. Too too many ballads. Energy was totally off and negative. I apologized all the way home. The encore was strong yet all Marcus could utter was 'SHIT now this man thinks he's Jesus'

PUMPED my buddy up HARD for his first Jacket experience. total buzz kill

Seen The Jacket over 25 times never thought I'd be so disenchanted.

weird. ive heard the exact opposite from everyone....

gardenparty

I loved them both. Didn't think there were many "ballads" at all.  Not one solo Jim song.  I do wish Jim had interacted with the crowd at least once over the two nights but I'm sure there was a reason for that.
One of the more unique set lists I've ever witnessed and all the people around me were really awesome both nights. My buddy I dragged along as a very mild fan loved the second night.  Thought the first was "pretty good"
The fact that Vegas is a 24 hour party city makes it very difficult to get an even keeled audience. Everybody is in different states of party. Just the way it seems to be with every Vegas show I've ever been to.
I really loved both nights. The sound was spectacular
To each their own though. Sorry you feel so negative about it.  We all have bad shows I guess
