We had a similar experience with a power tripping rent-a-cop outside the venue in Austin the night before... Trying to get our drink on (discreetly, out of soda cups) while waiting in line and this dude comes up and asks what's in my cup... I guess he didn't believe me that it was apple juice because he took it out of my hand, smelled it and then told us he wasn't gonna let us in, and that he was going to get back up... After getting a real cop as backup, this douche  comes back out and lectures us all about breaking the rules and ruining the whole concert for everyone, but the real cop behind him looked bored and annoyed the whole time!
These are the types of people that need to pay more attention to the gospel of Jim James!

cops at dallas saw me and a couple buddies lighting up in the outside smoking section, nodded and smirked, and turned away. just depends on who you get unfortunately

Ha sorry typo yeah Wild Honey thanks. On that note does anybody know where to find the Fruit Bats set lists for these openers? I think they said they played some newer ones that sounded great so I would like to find out the song titles. Also, how cool is the fruit bats keyboardist?! Loved the crowd pointing and background dance type moves he brought!
Here is the set list for last night.

Ruminant is a jam thanks for helping me find this
Here it is, in its entirety, our cover of ELO's Telephone Wire

i wonder what thse mystery crossouts are...

According to the Setlist they just posted on Twitter, the cross outs are:

I Will Be There (ouch!)
and
Smokin

Was there a curfew??

Interesting/disappointing about the scratched songs. Definitely not due to curfew...the ROS was posted at the bars as 9:10-11:30, and the show ended at 11:15. Honestly I think they were just tired and ready to get off the road. It was obvious their performance effort was at about 85%. Not to mention the venue was almost half empty...upper deck wasn't even open. Can't blame them for being slightly unmotivated when a market that size can't' come close to selling out a Saturday night show.  Before you start flaming me, I'm not saying it was a bad show. It was still an incredible rock show and worth every penny. Just not in the upper echelon of what MMJ is capable of. Anyone who is a realist and has seen a few MMJ shows will agree.
