After the show

Anybody ever hang by the tour buses outside the venue in hopes of meeting the band? Is this standard practice or poor etiquette? I've exited venues before and seen the buses parked with a barricaded-off path from the back door to the bus door, but I've never hung out there.

I actually did this after the Seattle shows...I just hung out by the stage door with a few people that do this after all the shows, so the band knows them all already.  I think as long as you are respectful when they come out they don't mind at all, they were all very very nice honestly.  I I asked for them to sign my set list, got a quick picture, and briefly gushed about them being my favorite band of all time...! But be warned you may wait awhile...we waited a solid hour plus.  And Jim James snuck out at some point so we didn't see him, but the rest of the guys were really awesome and seemed happy to meet a fan!

you absolutely should! Best band in the whole world! I'm very glad you had a hell of an experience! It was very cool to meet Tom and Bo a week and a half ago and I'm glad you got this experience!

why does jim not like talking to people? gets pretty rediculous. not trying to start a big conversationg here, but it seems he never ever talks to the fans like the other band members do

  You respect my opinion but don't want a conversation?  I'm not sure I follow you since it's a forum that's all about discussions. Why even bother posting if you don't want replies/discussion? Do you expect everyone to accept your statements as facts and just agree or are you at least open to some back and forth?  Cause if you're not,I don't think you get the concept of a fan forum.

You have to keep in mind that after shows they are exhausted and have their own friends and family to catch up with. Jim is obviously the most recognizable face and probably the biggest "rock god" of them all, but I get the impression that he isn't entirely comfortable being so famous so it's a tough line for them to walk.
Having only met Tom and Jim, I think that they realize the fame and influence they have on people, but they are still approachable and willing to engage with fans, which makes them even more lovable!

I've met jim multiple times. He's taken pics and signed things and has always been beyond friendly.
