Hello,
Off and on lurker here.  Ever since the Austin shows last week, the only thing I've been able to do is: listen to MMJ (live shows seem to be a somewhat better cure at the moment), read about the band (interviews, show reviews, etc.), watch youtube videos of the band, obsessively check to see if recordings of the ATX show have surfaced, and think about how I can possibly see them again this year.

HELP!  It feels like a sickness.  I've seen them 8 times now (since '05) so I know this will eventually pass and I can feel back to normal, but in the meantime this is just ridiculous.  I'm feeling like a crazy person and am in need of some validation that this happens to others too!  All I can say is there is something special about this band.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Welcome to your new normal.

Hi.  My name is John.  I am a Jackeholic.  I, too, have a constant desire to drive long distances and stand in dense crowds, all for the sake of seeing this band perform.

Its been 128 days since my last show...

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Ok, so....

Plus side: I'm not alone
Down side: The only real cure is more live Jacket at an unobtainable level

Also, go see lots of other bands in all venues, big and small.  Here in Iowa City, I've got a few clubs and a nice theater offering lots of undercard bands for $10-$30.  Let us not forget, this is how MMJ got their start...

I wish Tommy would grow his hair long like this again (and go back to being Tommy instead of Tom)!

Yeah, I saw the 3 SF shows and then PHX and its killing me to not have any more Jacket shows on the calendar.  If I could get to the Beacon, I'd do it in a heartbeat,  Jacket are so ON FIRE right now!

At dawn, I am with you. We are ALL with you. It is so so hard. I just did all 3 SoCal shows, in the space of 8 days. Less than a week after my last show my high wore off, and the comedown was hard. It does feel like a sickness. I totally understand. If you're able to hold onto the transcendent feeling that takes us all out of our heads for even a couple of days, you're doing well. I've decided 3 shows is my absolute minimum for any one tour.
You know they're announcing new dates for 2016 right? Hang in there. And yes, listening to the shows is the best therapy I have found. We're going to make it!

Shug, have you downloaded the SF show links? I was not at those shows and am SO thrilled to listen to them. The quality is incredible! You guys really got lucky with the three in a row.

When will 2016 tour dates be announced?

There are a lot worse things to be addicted to.

A cure for post show blues is when MMJ announces another tour and you have a ticket in hand for an upcoming show.  That plus bootlegs, plus reading/posting on the forum, plus getting into and seeing other bands also help.

Thanks all.  Things are getting better day by day.  Thinking about the potential for a new album/tour/new JJ solo(?) in 2016 definitely helps.  That and the small chance that I'll be in Boston 11/20 due to work.

The crazy thing is I go to shows all the time (which does indeed help) and have been able to see some really great shows by bands I love, but no other band puts me in this stupor.  On a positive note, here's to being fortunate enough to be able to see this incredible band performing better than ever!

Since seeing them live for the 1st time at Bonnaroo this year, I have literally been listening to 90% MMJ for the past 5 months...
I also picked up the Q-Chord (new version of Jim's Omnichord) and have learned several Jacket songs! (Thanks again for the tabs johnnYYac!)

I would think they would take a break next year???  2015 was a busy year.

Seeing MMJ this year (12th & 13th time) in New Orleans & Austin were great times!

PS
Jacket fans are the coolese folk.

They supposedly have 2 nights reserved at Red Rocks in mid-May, but nothing has been confirmed/ announced yet... Someone had talked to Bo and he said overall 2016 would be quieter than 2015 but with a few shows mixed in; then 2017 would be another big year with a new album, OBH3, and another full tour

No question their live shows are addictive but there is no cure, you can only treat the symptoms  The only treatment that works for me is more shows!!
