My gut tells me this is the last 7 shows we are gonna hear from MMJ for a very long time.Maybe a breakup after?

Are you sure it's not just indigestion?

Jbpats

Aren't they supposedly coming out withba new album in 16?

Wild speculation like this does nothing productive.

They'll be at a few festivals next year, a two-night RR run has been all but confirmed and then there's OBH 2017.

In between will be rest, rejuvenation and more than likely a Jim solo album.

So, yes, there will be a lull. But breakup? Child please.

Jim had this to say about it recently:

JamBase: When The Waterfall was announced, it was said there would be two albums spread a year apart. Is there still a new album coming in 2016?

JJ: [Sigh] That was sort of taken out of context. I was just trying to say we'd recorded a bunch of songs. We wanted to put out another record sooner than we normally do but I wasn't sure how that would happen so I don't know. There's a lot we've recorded that exist but [those songs] still need work and there are other things to record before we could say a record is ready. But you never know ... Things can happen really fast.

"Where's Jim going?"

I mean, me saying I have a gut feeling ill be seeing mmj live in the year 2035 is just as constructive and has the same amount of validity as what you're saying. It's all just speculation. I don't have any reason to they'll go away soon. I mean Jim just gave an interview where he stated how much he enjoyed playing with the guys and gave hope for OBH 2017 am I right ?

I think Jim is one of those people that may just be honest and genuine almost to a fault...
Like if he is transparent about how much material they recorded at Stinson Beach, some would misinterpret it as meaning another album is coming in 2016. And like if he is transparent about how constant touring isn't always rainbows and unicorns, some might misinterpret that as saying he's getting tired of MMJ.
My opinion is that he's human, and he's not your typical fake, self-absorbed rock star, which will come through in his interviews like this... Even more reasons to love the guy!

Group of fans talked to some of the band, I believe it was Bo who said so. May would be most likely time.

Although I agree with your comments, the irony of this post is amazingly awesome!

can we get a new section of the forum called "Wild Speculation"? This and the post on "Jim's change" over the years aren't bringing anything to the table? I know this is an internet forum so my standards are only so high, but come on peoples...
Don't you ever turn it off

The epitome of responses to this thread. Forget this existed. Haha

I've been hearing "They're going to break up" since like 2009. I like to lean on the optimistic side.

I don't like your gut feeling. Turn it around! Go the other way!

Jim recently did a phone interview - I think it was with Jam Base.  He talked about the misunderstanding about 2 albums, working on another solo album and how tight the guys are in the band.  I doubt they will ever break up.  Maybe take a year or 2 off, but sooner or later the boys will be back in town!

I totally agree! It's very apparent how much they love each other and enjoy playing together and I don't think that will ever disappear as long as they keep going like they are, with some healthy breaks mixed in with the heavy touring and recording
