Hopefully Throwback is a Waterfall b side and not something from the next album.

This. Sounds like poppy Beatles. All I could think of was Kenny Chesney's "I go back". Lol

I want dark psychedelic melt. Or paint me a picture of something beautiful. Not Throwback.

Dark Psychedelic is definitely not the direction they have taken.  I do consider Waterfall adult contemporary easy listening......which is a shame in my book.

I feel the exact opposite. I'd rather hear more songs like Throwback than almost anything on The Waterfall (or Circuital for that matter).

Me too my man, but i love waterfall and circuital!!

Throwback is WAAAY more instrumentally talented than most of their newer stuff and leaves the door wide open for long jams

yep.  IMO, musically it hearkens back to Lay Low and some of the more jam-friendly early material.  lyrically, it's a bit corny though.  but that's a department they've been lacking in for some time now.

No.....the last few albums is why the forum has been dying.  There is becoming a definite line being drawn between the first 4 albums and the last few.  People that loved the first 4 albums are starting to wonder if this band has another amazing record in them.

No.....the last few albums is why the forum has been dying.  There is becoming a definite line being drawn between the first 3 1/2 albums and the last few.  People that loved the first 3 1/2 albums are starting to wonder if this band has another amazing record in them.

umm......the first 4 albums are what got me into them. I absolutely love the last 2. So dont go generalizing. I think im deleting my account here soon! I like to be with positive people!! No time in life to be negative!!

When your favorite band gives you an inkling as to where they are headed and it comes of sideways in your opinion where else would you express your concern. Others liking it doesn't make them right. Nor does it me. The forum is a place to express and discuss. Nobody's saying the boys stink and the sky is falling.

Grateful we don't all agree.

But ya, the rest is SUPREME as always.

4 of my GOOD CLOSE friends deleted their forum account because of exactly what i said, being negative. And I stood up for it, yet now I am starting to believe them.

Throwback kicks ass!! I was expecting Big Decisions 2.0 based on the earlier comments here, not some supremely jammed out and melodically clever rave-up. Can't wait to hear a studio version of this tune -- y'all crazy!

I think we have very different opinions on what constitutes "jammed out" :)

Don Dante is Jammed out......War Begun is Jammed out....I Think I'm Going To Hell is Jammed out.....Off The Record is Jammed out.

EXACTLY. This was the most intricate Jam theyve had maybe ever honestly. Never seen Jim hit so many notes

To each their own but jeez man, if you think this place is negative I don't think you've visited too many other bands sites.

This place is so far from what I would consider negative, I can't even comprehend where you're coming from. Sure there's discussion back and forth the way a forum should be, and some negative thoughts but those negatives are few and far between,IMO.  Unless you think anything that doesn't agree with your thinking is negative.

There's way, way more positives on this site than negatives as far as I'm concerned.
