I got to speak with Dan Dorff (Jim's keyboard player for his 2013 solo tour and keyboard player for Daniel Martin Moore much of the time), and I asked him if he would be playing in Jim's touring band. He said no. He said Jim hasn't asked him and that he has his own band project that's busy now recording an album.

I haven't talked to Dave Givan about it, but I'd bet he is still in the touring band for these shows. Who knows, Kevin Ratterman will be on tour with him as a member of Twin Limb. I guess it's not out of the question that he would still be Jim's backup guitar player and looping/sound effects dude. This will be interesting to see what happens with this tour.

twin limb, including Kevin is part of the backing band.  not sure who else but it would surprise me if dave givan wasnt on drums.

I believe I heard Jim's band would be the opener- Twin Limb, which includes Kevin Ratterman, plus Dave Givan on drums and Seth Kaufman (Floating Action) on bass.

I realize Jim will be in San Francisco 2 days in a row before this tour gets rolling, but I'm hoping for a date between Portland and Las Vegas. Both of the dates with Conor are billed as Conor Oberst + Guests so I feel it is entirely possible that when those dates come and go we will get a Bay Area Jim James show announced. Anybody know anything about the 3 day gap that I might be missing?

If I had to take a guess, I'd think LA on 12/9. I can't imagine him skipping LA.

Aren't the first two shows late Sept both Southern California?  I bet one of those three dates will be San Fran area.  But there could be both LA and SF.  That has a better chance than three days off in a row.

The first shows are Southern California Adjacent- Yucca Valley & Ventura but not LA or South of LA... I would bet LA & SF dates will drop in that December time frame.
