tickets still available and looking good? got a 3 night package last night just to see if they were available and definitely were, so fingers crossed if i can actually swing 3 nights and do that. But most likely looking at a one night NYE stand, as much as I wanna be there for all three nights.

Whaaaaat? Dude!

I say this with all respect and no malice at all but you can't do just one! If you're making the trek to CO for one show and as much as you love these guys, this 3-day is a must do.

Bag your lunch for the next 4.5 months, get a Saturday job, whatever you need to do to make this happen, do it. You won't regret it. Trust me, down the road you'll forget the hours you worked to pull it off but you definitely won't forget seeing a three night NYE run.

I know I keep thinking that it's just gonna be hard to swing it and I've already been cheaping 0n everything.  I gotta find a way to get 400 bucks JUST for this because it's kept getting eaten by bills and a recent car accident I was in the ticket etc. But I'm gonna do everything I can to get 3 nights. If someone could even.secure them for me before the tickets went I'd put my life on the line to pay you back and definitely would but i can't see anyone taking that chance I'm gonna see if family can help a little . We are poor as fuck but I'm doin everything to do this. Working a double as I type this. I love you guys thanks for the encouragement

Are we sure that there aren't going to be any late Fall shows leading up to this New Years run? I know bands will often turn a NYE trek into a " mini-tour" Is that completely off the table?

I highly doubt there will be a fall tour. But I don't think it is completely off the table. They didn't play any west coast dates this year so maybe they will do a short tour out west.

From what I've heard (definitely a very reliable source) there are no shows planned for the fall. I guess that could change but as of right now, yes I'm sure there won't be any late Fall shows and I'm planning my fall accordingly.

Alright y'all, the Mrs. has officially put the budgetary kibosh on OBH, so my only hope for more MMJ before the summer is this NYE run. But -- I've still gotta sell her. It's a long haul to Denver from Toronto.

I see some wine tours offered, that's a major start. Maybe some skiing? Any other sweet attractions/restaurants/wineries/parks/breweries (other than Coors) for day trips that would convince someone who loves MMJ but also loves VALUE?! $1500 for two flights is a steep price for three shows (as awesome as they'll be) -- so any tips for can't miss activities in the Denver area (that are still do-able in December) would be greatly appreciated!!

there are a number of craft breweries in the denver and boulder area.

and if you're into it, weed is legal

Last i counted, it was over 150.  I'll put a post together with my recommendations and details on the beers styles they each serve.  I will also include craft beer bars, which honesty is the best option if you have limited time, there is just too many breweries out here, focusing on different things.  I've been to many of those 150, not all but probably 90-110.  Beer geek since 2002, and Denver is really the napa valley of craft beers!  I'm guessing we have some other local beer guys on here too, its kind of hard not to be into craft beer out here!

how are more Jacket fans into beer and booze than weed? weed is perfect for this band hahah

there are no shortage of amazing breweries in the Denver area, this much I can promise you. Not sure what it will be like in the winter, but Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park is pretty awesome. We plan to go skiing as well, likely stay a couple of days after the shows.

Skiing.  Yes!  It's going to be hard to find time to sleep.

I'm a certifiable beer geek as well, while I don't live in Denver, have been 4 times in the last couple of years. Some of my beer highlights...

Breweries:
*Crooked Stave (if you like sour beers), inside a very cool hipster market complex called "The Source"
*Comrade Brewing
*Call To Arms
*TRVE
*Weldwerks (in Greeley, not in Denver, but maybe my favorite CO brewery)

Beer bars/restaurants:
*Hops and Pie (this place is a must! Killer beers, killer pizza)
*Falling Rock taphouse. Considered one of the best beer bars in the country. I'm not a fan of the location, but the selections is top notch.

...I plan to check out a few new ones on this trip.
I know zero about this brewery, but... http://www.lowdownbrewery.com/

Ill be drinking (and eating) at Avery brewing in Boulder as often as possible during this run. Cant wait

undergroundales

In addition to a few already mentioned (especially Trve & Crooked Stave), I highly recommend River North and Renegade in Denver. Copper Kettle and Dry Dock are solid, and LowDown is worth a stop for sure during this run! And If you're driving up from the south, don't miss Trinity in Colorado Springs.

Good beer + good weed.  Did someone say something about a nye Jacket show?  Personally, I'm down with all three!  Going to be a great weekend!

Hands down the best place if you are in the Boulder area.  The new facility is amazing.  They have over 25 beers on tap all Avery.  They have every style, so everyone should find many beers they are into.  Like 18% barrel-aged beers, too the regular IPAs, pales and largers.  Top notch brewery.

Crooked Stave is doing some of the best sours in the country.  And now offering "regular beers" in cans.  In that area (Rino, hot new spot downtown Denver) there are about 20 breweries within 2 miles.

Trve in South Broadway is another good spot.  Trve pronounced True is a heavy metal brewery, doing sours and also other styles.  South Broadway is my preferred party spot.  Not necessarily the spot with the most breweries but a lot of cool bars and restaurants.  Will start working on the list here soon feel free add your favorite local beer spots!

This guy knows the good stuff!  Comrade is awesome and my neighborhood brew pub.  Hops and Pie best beer bar in Denver, also great food.  Falling Rock is great as well as is the rooftop bar Tap 14 across the street 100 Colorado beers on tap!  Plus, a beer adult arcade next door.  Had a friend in town this weekend and did Weldworks for the first time, probably my favorite Colorado Brewery now.  It's a bit crazy to drive to Greeley but well worth it.  Although I also went to Odd 13, which is doing similar beers, almost as good, and closer to venue in Lafayette.  Also a must!

e-stone

y'all have touched upon most of the good stuff already - major +1's for Odd 13 (my local) and Weldwerks (make sure to hit up Wiley Roots if you make the trip up to Greeley).

i will throw Black Project out there for fans of sours (on S. Broadway in Denver very close to Trve).

in the boulder area, don't miss Powder Keg in Niwot (pretty close to Avery) and the new up-and-comer Cellar West in North Boulder - doing killer saison's and wild ales.

and for those of you with plans to ski, you HAVE to stop in at Outer Range in Frisco.  IMO doing the best NE-style IPAs in the state at this point.  head brewer is from Other Half in NYC.  if you are extending your trip post-nye, you may even catch a can release.  they've only had two so far but they seem to be falling on the first saturday of the month.

on the beer bar tip, Goed Zuur just opened recently in Five Points (in Denver).  from the owners of Backcountry in Boulder, this place focuses on sour beer and is amazing (i.e. bottles of Casey always available).

Cerebral Brewing (off East Colfax in Denver) is well worth a visit too.  super solid IPAs, sours and stouts.
