Listened to the first couple song off the new Neko Case Album, seemed decent. Looking forward to new Jayhawks.

Although it hasn't hit yet I have previewed and preordered the new Israel Nash "Lifted"
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

New FJM's prettay prettay good. I like it more than his last LP, but not as much as Honeybear.

I still don't know if the whole pompous, ego-maniac routine is an act (though I suspect it is not), but my god this guy can write a song like nobody else I can think of right now.

Another favorite of this year

he's very much like Kanye at this point in that you aren't sure where the persona ends and the person begins and that they are both supremely talented individuals who are very polarizing.

Listened to this album a few times on a road trip last week and he always has some lines that blow my mind like this line:

People, we know so little about ourselves
But just enough to wanna be nearly anybody else
How does that add up?
Don't you ever turn it off

Couple of new entries from me:

Lykke Li - so sad so sexy - I'm not a huge lover of pop music but I've been a fan of hers since she started (she started as a much more 'Alternative' singer) this record has grown on me a lot. Despite the very pop and current surrounding production it's full of lovely melodies and hooks.

Florence + The Machine - High As Hope - This one hasn't grabbed me as instantly as her past releases but there are a couple of songs I already love and some others are growing on me. There's a song called Grace which I keep going back to again and again, it's really beautiful and haunting.

Tickets booked to see them both in London this November! Lykke at Brixton Academy which is a great venue and Florence at the 02 Arena, I'm not usually a fan of Arena shows but I saw Arcade Fire at Wembley this year and it was honestly one of the best gigs I've been to so I'm starting to become less skeptical of large venues!
it wouldn't be a party without you

M. Ward - What A Wonderful Industry
Julian Lage - Modern Lore
Calexico - The Thread That Keeps Us
Ben Howard - Noonday Dream
Dr. Lonnie Smith - All In My Mind

Marcus King Band - Carolina Confessions

His studio recordings are a mere shadow of what he and his band do live, but this new record showed some improved song composition, in my view.
